Chapter 72
The emergency broadcast sounded.
Chris and Jake exchanged a glance, then both put down their cutlery and rushed toward the operating room.
They hadn’t expected the emergency to be a child.
But why did the child look somewhat familiar?
Getting closer, they saw the child covered in blood on the legs and unconscious–wasn’t this Jordan?
It turned out to be Michael’s daughter.
But the woman who had just brought the child was someone else!
“Car accident! Quickly get the scans!” A group of people hurriedly pushed the child to the imaging room for scans, while others located the wound from the child’s bleeding spot.
The woman who had brought the child stood nervously at the door
A nurse came out and asked, “Does the child have any allergies?”
The woman looked panicked, glancing around as if hiding from someone.
Hearing the nurse’s question, she hesitated, then shook her head and said, “No. She’s lived abroad since birth and only came back this year. No allergy history.”
The nurse carefully recorded the information, then asked again, “Any drug allergies?”
This time the woman seemed genuinely unsure.
The nurse grew anxious, “We’ve already found the bleeding site and need to operate quickly. If we don’t know drug allergies, we’ll have to do skin tests one by one, which will waste a lot of time. Does the Hall family know?”
Seeing the woman stammering and unable to answer, the nurse became suspicious, “What is your relation to the child?”
This time the woman raised her voice, “I’m her mother, her biological mother.”
“A biological mother wouldn’t be unaware of her child’s drug allergies. Are there other family members? If you can’t answer, I’ll call the police!” The nurse threatened to take out her phone to call.
Chris, standing in the adjacent observation room, saw this scene.
This was Jordan’s biological mother.
Since Michael brought the child back, they had never mentioned this woman.
Jordan had always wanted Jessica to be her mother, almost as if she had forgotten her real mother.
After giving it some thought, Chris called Jessica.
After all, this involved Michael, and since he and Michael were at odds, it had nothing to do with the child.
“Jessica,” said Chris as he connected the call, his gaze still fixed on the woman.
He felt the woman was somewhat guilty, though he didn’t know why.
“What’s up? Missed me?” Jessica was in a good mood.
The most difficult project had progressed smoothly, and she could free up a lot of time to be with Chris.
She even planned to go away for a couple of days, and maybe when she returned, they could remarry.

But what Chris said next made jessica’s expression grow serious, and her smile story faded.
“You’re saying that Jordan was taken by a woman? What does the bok like?”
The woman was looked like she was mixed–race, and spoke good Cherian, tad didn’t seem to know much about her daughter
“Walt for me. I’m coming now.”
After hanging up, Chris laughed at his own saintly impulse.
Clearly, this woman was a rival, yet he still called his ex–wife to inform her.
Jessica sounded anxious and didn’t wait for him to say the child was fine before hurriedly hanging up.
She really cared.
He was a little curious if he and Jessica had a child, would she be like this too?
But before marriage, Jessica had said they were only in a contractual marriage and would not have children.
To preserve Jessica’s reputation, Chris had to say it was his unwillingness to have children.
In the end, many people guessed Chris had health issues and couldn’t father children.
Jessica handed the phone to Shannon, who quickly went to the hospital.
“How did Jordan end up in Helen’s hands?”
Jordan’s mother’s real name was Helen Jills,
After the Hall family immigrated abroad, she seemed to have changed her name as well
