Her voice trembled, and Natalia’s heart broke at the sight of her daughter’s pitiful expression.

She knew Abigail hated Caroline now. If she told the truth, Abigail would definitely refuse.

As Natalia sensed Caroline’s fury, her guilt towards Abigail
vanished.
She thought it was all Abigail’s fault–if she had just given money, Caroline wouldn’t have felt humiliated.
After internally cursing Abigail, Natalia put her arm around Caroline’s shoulders and comforted her. “Don’t be upset, Caroline. It’s just a match. No big deal. James and I have already discussed it; we’ll go to court tomorrow to transfer your custody.”
