Chapter 15 Sharing a Bed
“Is she throwing up from kissing?” he wondered.

Marcus felt a little frustrated. After a moment’s hesitation, he
recalled how much wine she had drunk. His heart went out to her,
and he squatted down to gently pat her back.
Even after being on the receiving end of her vomit, Marcus- the richest man in the world–took care of her without a hint of complaint, soothing her and fetching her water. It wasn’t until Abigail finally seemed to recover that he let out a sigh of relief.
It was all so unbelievable.
The next day, warm sunlight filtered into the room, rousing the
woman in bed.
Abigail squinted against the light and mumbled for a moment, then hugged the pillow in her arms and prepared to get up.
But why did her pillow feel so hard today?
As she slowly opened her eyes, she was met by Marcus‘ gaze, propped up on one hand, watching her.
The silence filled the air instantly.

In the next instant, Abigail shot up, eyes wide.
Oh no! What happened last night?

She had heard that women often felt pain and weakness after sex. Thankfully, aside from a splitting headache, she felt no other
discomfort.
But why had her clothes been changed?
Looking down at the bathrobe wrapped around her, she panicked, turning to Marcus. “Why are you in my bed?”
What she thought was a pillow turned out to be Marcus’ chiseled
chest.
“This is my room,” he said, raising an eyebrow with a chuckle.
Abigail was stunned. After taking a closer look, she realized this was not the guest room where she had left her luggage.
Her face turned crimson as fragments of the previous night began
to surface in her memory.
From begging for a hug, to eagerly asking for a kiss, to ultimately throwing up on him, crying, and insisting on sleeping in his arms.
She felt utterly mortified.

With a whimper, Abigail pulled the blanket over her head, hiding
from the world.
After a long pause, she finally muttered from beneath the blanket, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for any of that to happen. I swear I’ll never drink again!”
“It’s okay,” Marcus replied, laughing lightly, clearly in good spirits.
Once she heard him get out of bed, Abigail cautiously peeked out from under the blanket a bit later, hoping he had left.
But instead, she found him changing clothes in front of the closet, his upper body bare.
A full–length mirror stood in front of the wardrobe, reflecting Marcus‘ perfect physique.
He had a powerful, muscular chest, chiseled abs, and a perfectly sculpted V–shape.
“I’ll introduce you to some hot guys, and I guarantee you’ll have a blast every night!”
Gianna’s words suddenly echoed in Abigail’s mind. Her cheeks flushed, and she quickly ducked back under the blanket.

What was she thinking? How could she be peeking at a man getting dressed?
She figured she was being discreet, but unbeknownst to her, Marcus was well aware of every move she made in the mirror.

He deliberately took his time getting dressed, watching her face grow redder and redder until she finally curled up, a smile spreading across his face.
Once he was sure Marcus had genuinely left, Abigail tiptoed back to her own room, face still flushed, washed up, and changed her
clothes.
After taking her time, she finally emerged to find Marcus busy cooking in the semi–open kitchen.
“Looks like a good husband,” she thought silently as she quietly made her way out.
She wanted to sneak away, but Marcus noticed her and called out, “Don’t you want to have breakfast together?”
“No, I’m in a hurry to get to the office. Let’s do it another time. Bye!” Abigail replied hastily.
Before Marcus could respond, she dashed out the door.

After the embarrassment of last night, there was no way she could
sit down for breakfast with Marcus as if nothing had happened.
When Marcus stepped out of the kitchen with a tray, Abigail had already taken the elevator downstairs.
He set the tray down, suddenly lacking any appetite, and was about to leave when he noticed the documents scattered across
the table.
Abigail must have forgotten to put them away after reading them in the living room last night.
Marcus casually glanced over the papers, his eyes catching the bold heading: Envision Group.
After a moment of thought, he wiped his hands, stood up, and walked over to the window to make a phone call.
