When Vivian pushed open the door, Knox sat with his back to the entrance on the sofa. The TV in front of him played the video of Vivian murdering Grandpa on repeat, while the coffee table displayed evidence of all of Vivian’s schemes against Celia.
These were materials Knos had his assistant investigate after learning Vivian was Grandpa’s true attacker.
Knox knew Vivian was bad, but he never imagined she could be this evil.
The thought that he had repeatedly hurt Celia for such a woman made Knox’s heart seize with pain, his wrist monitor beeping frantically.
But Knox sat motionless like a statue, waiting for Vivian’s arrival.
Before entering the mansion, Vivian’s heart raced with excitement.
Since Celia’s death, Knox had told her their contract was over and evicted her from the house.
The sudden dismissal caught Vivian completely off guard, leaving her unprepared.
She’d grown accustomed to a life of luxury–returning to mediocrity felt like a nightmare.
But Vivian wasn’t worried. She assumed Knox was just devastated by losing Celia and temporarily losing his mind.
Besides, Knox had genuinely loved her these past months, hurting Celia countless times for her sake.
She didn’t believe Knox would really abandon her.
Sure enough, the butler had come to bring her back.
In that moment, Vivian was ecstatic. She thought Knox had moved on and sorted out his feelings, confirming he truly loved her. This time he was giving her a new status.
But when Vivian opened the mansion door, what awaited her wasn’t joy, but nightmare.
“Explain.” Knox didn’t look at Vivian, just stared at the TV and spoke flatly, though his voice was colder than the deep autumn air.
Vivian’s face instantly drained from rosy to deathly pale. She saw her own breath forming white mist that crystallized into arrow shapes in the air.
“Knox, these are all fake. Believe me–how could I do such things?”
Despite overwhelming evidence, Vivian stubbornly denied everything.
She knew that admitting guilt meant certain death!
With this thought, Vivian deployed her most effective tactic with Knox.
She approached him with red–rimmed eyes in her most pitiful manner, trying to take hishand as she’d done so many times before.
“Knox…”
The next moment, Knox struck her across the face with the stack of evidence!
The sharp paper edges cut Vivian’s cheek, drawing drops of blood. The sudden impact sent her crashing to the floor.
Knox suddenly laughed. He stood up, stepping over the scattered papers toward her, his custom leather shoes crushing the sweet pastry box she’d brought.
“Vivian, you’re just a mistress. How did you get the nerve to do all this?”
“No–you’re not even a mistress. Just an actress.”
Lightning suddenly flashed outside the floor–to–ceiling windows. In the glass reflection, Vivian saw herself melting away.
The perfectly groomed version of herself was becoming a wreck under the downpour of evidence.

Chapter 15
Knox slowly crouched in front of Vivian and grabbed her thin with crushing force, as if he wanted to shatter her bones.
When Knox’s hand touched her chin, Vivian caught his familiar cologne scent.
That fragrance she’d loved so much now felt like it came from a demon in hell.
“No, no, I really didn’t…”
Vivian remained stubborn. She struggled to sit up and grabbed at Knox’s pants leg.
“I’ve always tried my best to follow your instructions. How could I do these things?”
