Chapter 14
The butler’s excited voice came through the phone. With a clang, the knife fell from Knox’s hand to the ground.
Knox rushed to the hospital, abandoning everything else.
He found Grandpa’s room surrounded by doctors.
“It’s a miracle! A true miracle!”
The doctors marveled as they examined the old man. After confirming his brain was fine, they left the room to Knox and his grandfather.
Grandpa looked at him for a moment, then asked, “Where’s Celia?”
Knox paused, then a wave of grief washed over his eyes. “She…”
Grandpa was old and couldn’t handle any more shocks.
Knox gripped his hands and forced himself to stay calm, revealing the truth but hiding the cause of Celia’s death.
“ent her abroad. When she admits her mistakes, I’ll bring her back.”
“She… after what happened to you last time, Is
Grandpa struggled to sit up in bed. “That’s complete nonsense!”
“Celia would never try to harm me! It was clearly your mistress!”
He coughed violently from his agitation.
Knox quickly patted his back, eyes full of shock. “What are
you saying? How is that possible?”
He knew Vivian’s character. She was so gentle she wouldn’t even step on an ant. How could she try to kill Grandpa?
Grandpa was furious. “If you don’t believe me, check the security footage!”
Security footage?
Knox remembered that after Grandpa’s incident, he had planned to check the cameras, but Vivian had clung to his sleeve crying that it wasn’t her.
At the time, Celia already had a history of incidents, so Knox had believed Vivian without question.
Now that Grandpa insisted on checking the footage, Knox felt it was pointless.
Even if they checked, wouldn’t it just confirm Celia was the culprit?
But now Celia was gone, and he didn’t want to dwell on it anymore.
But Grandpa remained insistent. “Even if you favor Vivian, you need to give Celia the truth!”
“If you won’t check, I’ll go myself!”
Seeing Grandpa’s determination, Knox finally returned to the mansion to review the security footage.
But the butler informed him that the cameras had broken down the day of Grandpa’s incident.
Knox frowned, sensing something was off.
Just then, a servant approached hesitantly. “Young master, I have a video…”
The servant had originally gone to close the windows in Grandpa’s room but witnessed something terrifying, so she hid in the closet and secretly
recorded it.
She hadn’t dared come forward before–first because Knox wouldn’t believe her, second because she feared offending Vivian.
Now, with Grandpa’s backing, she finally dared to speak up.

Knox quickly took the servant’s phone and played the video. Soon his smartwatch heart rate monitor broke 120.
In the video, after Grandpa and Colia finished talking, he went to bed, but shortly after he closed his eyes, a woman in a white dress quietly entered
She had long hair over her shoulders, and the diamond ring flashing on her hand was the rare piece Knox had won for Vivian at auction the day before the family gathering
The next moment, the woman turned around, revealing Vivian’s face!
Unlike her obedient demeanor around Knox, Vivian looked vicious and cruel.
She strode forward, grabbed a pillow, and pressed it hard over Grandpa’s face!
Her mouth spewed venom: “You old bastard! How dare you try to keep me out of the Whitfield family? Looking for death, aren’t you?”
The crude, malicious words from Vivian’s mouth made Knox’s smartwatch vibrate with high frequency warnings, his blood pressure monitor spiking like the ambulance sirens from that day.
“Butler, bring Vivian here,” Knox heard his own ice–cold voice. “And call the police.”
