EPISODE 12
The tension in the air was thick, suffocating. Daniel and Julio stood across from each other, muscles coiled, ready to strike. Their dominance clashed like a storm, sending a ripple of unease through the rogue wolves surrounding them.
Then, without warning, the fight began.
Julio moved first, lunging at Daniel with the speed and precision of a predator. His body twisted. mid–air, claws extended, aiming straight for Daniel’s throat.
Born a rogue, Julio had survived in the wild his entire life. His movements were unpredictable, raw, and deadly. There was no restraint in his attacks, only pure instinct and the desire to kill.
But Daniel was faster.
He sidestepped effortlessly, his golden eyes narrowing as he read Julio’s wild approach. While Julio’s attacks were vicious, they lacked the coordination and training of a true warrior.
Daniel had spent his entire life honing his skills, molded by discipline and experience. He blocked Julio’s next strike with ease, twisting his opponent’s arm and throwing him to the ground with terrifying strength.
A low growl erupted from Julio’s throat as he recovered quickly, rolling back onto his feet. He didn’t hesitate before charging again, but Daniel met him head–on. The sound of fists colliding echoed through the clearing, each impact vibrating in my bones.
Blood splattered onto the dirt as the fight escalated, neither holding back.
The rogue wolves stirred, ready to intervene, but Daniel’s subordinates moved in, blocking their path.
‘Stay out of this,” one of Daniel’s men warned, his voice laced with authority.
A few rogues bared their teeth in defiance, but before they could act, a firm voice cut through the
chaos.
‘Enough.”
Yvette stepped forward, her presence commanding immediate attention. She glanced between the two warring wolves before locking eyes with the rogues.
‘Do not interfere,” she ordered. “Let them settle this.”
Reluctantly, the rogue wolves pulled back, though their hackles remained raised. They weren’t happy about it, but they trusted Yvette’s judgment. The fight resumed.
Julio was relentless, launching attack after attack, but it became painfully clear that he was outmatched. Daniel dodged every strike, countering brutal efficiency. With each blow he landed, Julio’s movements slowed, his breathing became labored, and the fire in his eyes flickered.
And then, with one devastating strike, Daniel sent Julio crashing to the ground.
A collective silence fell over the camp. Julio groaned, struggling to rise, but Daniel was already on him, pinning him down with a boot against his chest.
It was over.
Daniel bared his fangs, lifting his hand, claws elongating. His wolf appeared, ready to deliver the

finishing blow. From afar, I could tell from Daniel’s expression that he would see this through. He was going to end this.
“NO!”
The word ripped from my throat before I could think. I pushed through the crowd, my heart pounding as I stepped between them. My hands trembled, but I refused to let my fear control
- me.
‘Daniel, stop.
He hesitated, his golden eyes burning into mine. Slowly, his claws retracted, though his expression remained unreadable. He stepped back, lifting his foot from Julio’s chest.
Julio coughed, groaning as he rolled onto his side, but he was alive.
Daniel scoffed, his gaze dark with something unreadable.
‘You’re protecting him?” he sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. “A rogue?”
I clenched my fists. “He didn’t deserve to die.”
Daniel studied me for a long moment before letting out a low chuckle. It wasn’t amused–it was sharp and cold. He tilted his head, considering something. Then, his smirk faded, replaced by a look of dangerous satisfaction.
‘Fine,” he said. “I’ll stop.”
Relief barely had time to settle in before he spoke again.
‘But on one condition.”
Dread curled in my stomach as I met his gaze. “What condition?”
Daniel stepped closer, his voice quiet but firm. “Come with me.”
The words sent a shiver down my spine.
Julio, still gasping for breath, forced himself up onto his elbows.
‘Maurice, don’t,” he rasped. “You don’t have to go with him.”
Yvette stepped beside me, her expression tight.
Think carefully,” she warned. “Don’t make a decision out of fear.”
Fear.
swallowed hard, my mind racing. I didn’t want to go with Daniel. I had built a new life here. The ogues had given me a place, had protected me when I had no one else. It was also here that I had found hope and happiness.
But I also knew Daniel. I knew what he was capable of.
f I refused, this wouldn’t end here. He wouldn’t just walk away. More blood would be spilled, and
couldn’t risk that. I couldn’t bring more trouble to the people who had taken me in.
took a deep breath and lifted my chin. “I’ll go.”
Daniel’s expression didn’t change, but I could feel the shift in the air. He smirked, looking at Julio and Yvette with triumph in his eyes. Julio let out a frustrated growl, but before he could argue, I gave him a small, reassuring look. This was my choice.
Daniel turned to his subordinates. “We’re leaving.”

At his command, his warriors withdrew, stepping away from the rogues. The tension didn’t fully fade, but it lessened enough for everyone to breathe again.
Yvette watched me closely. “Are you sure?”
I nodded. “Yes.”
With one last look at the rogue camp, I stepped forward, toward Daniel. Daniel looked at me with
a discernible infatuated expression, but I knew more than what he was showing. He had shown similar expressions before, something that almost looked as if he truly loved me.
But I knew better.
It is just a facade, but I am willing to take the risk.
