Theron’s gaze darkened: “It happened when the Velmoran family and Silverhollow family were fighting over overseas territory boundaries. He orchestrated an accident to stop me, but it went wrong when we crashed into an out–of–control transport vehicle. I lost consciousness, my inner wolf fell into a coma, and he lost his legs.”
I slowly closed my eyes. The twists of fate always come back to haunt their creators.
“Elira.” He suddenly took my hand. “You saved me in this life. Will you let me walk beside you from
now on?”
My heart skipped a beat.
“Elira, thank you for healing me and giving me a second chance at life.”
“When I woke up and saw you for the first time, I immediately recognized you as my destined mate.
Will you be my Luna?”
Under his intense gaze, I blushed shyly and tried to pull my hand away, but he held it firmly.
“Elira, I…”
Theron’s unfinished words were interrupted by Mrs. Velmoran’s voice.
She quickly beckoned to me.
“Miss Elira, please come check if Kaelen’s surgery was successful.”
I forcefully pulled my hand away and walked toward Mrs. Velmoran.
Kaelen was still unconscious from the anesthesia, lying on the hospital bed.
Looking at the empty space where his lower body should have been, I eagerly anticipated his expression when he woke up.
From what I knew of him in my previous life, someone as proud as him would find becoming truly disabled a fate worse than death.
When Kaelen regained consciousness, Grace didn’t rush to his side.

After seeing Kaelen come out of surgery, her expression had changed. The eyes once full of love now held only fear and disgust.
Yet Kaelen beckoned to her.
“Grace, even if you couldn’t heal me, I’ll still keep my promise to you.”
“Grace… once I’m discharged, I’ll definitely hold our bonding ceremony. You’ll still be my Luna…” he murmured.
But she only responded coldly: “You just had surgery… rest first.”
His face instantly changed: “Are you disgusted by me?”
Before Grace could explain, Mrs. Velmoran, who had just finished a phone call, kicked her.
“The toxicology report is back. That bottle contained Corrosive Butterfly Water–a poison specifically designed to harm Alpha wolves!”
“You did this to Kaelen! Why would you do such a thing?!”
“Mom, there must be some mistake. Grace couldn’t possibly hurt me.”
Kaelen couldn’t believe it. He turned to Grace.
“Grace, what’s going on?”
Grace stood frozen, her pupils contracting as she muttered to herself: “No! It wasn’t me!” Grace screamed hysterically. “He told me this medicine would rebuild the wolf body. I… I was only trying to help Kaelen!”
But Kaelen could no longer deceive himself.
“You… you’re the reason I can’t be an Alpha!”
Afterward, Theron and I left the Velmoran house, leaving the chaos behind.
Days passed. Over the next two months, Theron often sought me out. We walked together, he invited me to dinner and to admire the moon. The connection that had been destined since childhood finally began to take root.

The “Lunashade Fern” that Grace claimed to have found in the snowy mountains was a complete lie. Grace had been involved with a Rogue who claimed to be an exceptional healer, and obtained a fake medicine from him. That Rogue was actually a werewolf that Kaelen had banished from the pack.
After learning the truth, Kaelen had a massive fight with Grace, saying all sorts of terrible things.
In her anger, Grace blurted out:
“Kaelen, you’re nothing but a cripple now. Your inner wolf is dead, your Alpha position has been
revoked–who would want you besides me!”
“If I had known you couldn’t be healed, I would have been with another Alpha long ago. I was meant
to be an Alpha’s Luna, but now you’re not even an Alpha anymore. I don’t complain about you wasting my time and energy, yet you have the nerve to scold me?”
“Face reality–don’t you know everyone in the Pack says you’re living like a dog?”
Furious, Kaelen struck Grace.
Grace fled the Velmoran family with her hand over her cheek. Within days, she was involved with
another pack’s Alpha.
She ended up being beaten by that Alpha’s Luna and sent back to the Velmoran family, and Kaelen was also publicly humiliated.
At that point, Kaelen showed no mercy and kept Grace locked up, tormenting her day and night.
Then one day, Grace went berserk and beat Kaelen so badly he was hospitalized. Mrs. Velmoran had
Grace committed to a mental institution.
Hearing all this, I felt a mix of emotions.
Was this the ending Kaelen wanted in my previous life?
During this time, I gradually grew to depend on Theron. He was already my destined mate, and considering our childhood connection, we became a couple.
One day, at the Moon Goddess’s altar by the ancient well, Theron handed me a bouquet of red roses
and asked with a smile:
‘Elira, you are my destined Luna. I’ve loved you deeply since I first saw you as a child. Will you become my true mate? Let’s spend our lives together and never betray each other.”

“She won’t!”
