“I’ll be back to help out.”
“Take care of yourself so you can heal. Tomorrow is Friday, we still have one more Strength class before the week- end,” I tell her. I was hoping she’d defeat the Beast faster than any other Alpha, but she’s starting to let it get in her
head.
I send her off, then set up the sparring partners. James walks up to me.
“Is she okay?”
“Bruised and she has a gash, but she’ll be healed by tomorrow,” I tell him, giving Tyler some pointers how his ap- proach with Daniel needs to change before moving to the next group.
“That’s not what I mean. Is it getting into her head?” he asks.
“Yeah, hers and Noah’s.”
He nods. Between the two of us, we’ll make sure that Christina doesn’t fail. Somehow, during our time tonight, I need to help her see that she can find another way to defeat the Beast.
Liam POV
After lunch, I try to approach Luna Mia again. This is the fourth time I’ve tried to approach her but she’s unwilling to even let me apologize for Tuesday night.
“Luna Mia,” I say walking up to her.
“Alpha Liam, I have nothing to say to you,” she begins.
“Please Luna, I just…”
She snarls. “Did you not hear me, Alpha. Do you have wax in your ears?” she growls.
“No, Luna.”
. “Then get out of my sight,” she snarls.
I go to my next two classes, struggling to focus. If I can’t figure things out with Luna Mia, I won’t pass the sex class. I know they told us we didn’t have to win the ten–point coins to pass the Academy, but I haven’t earned any single coins, not like Tyler, Ezra, and even Christina who are earning them every fucking night. At this rate, I won’t pass the Academy, and I’ll prove my father right. That I truly am the fuck up he says I am.
When we get to the Communication class, Logan shoulder bumps me. “You okay, man? You’ve been out of it all day.”

When we sit, Alpha James tells us we’re going to start interviewing each other. This is our way to practice focusing on the person in front of us, listening to what they have to say, and learning how to get to the heart of an issue.
That gives me an idea, and my hand shoots up in the air.
“Alpha Liam?” Alpha James asks.
“Can we pick the topic of conversation?”
His eyes narrow at me. “Yes.”
“Can we choose our partner?”
He looks at me long enough that I’m ready to start squirming in my seat.
“For today, I’ll allow it,” he says.
“Then I’d like to go first.”
He leans against the wall, still watching me as he crosses his arms over his chest. Finally, he gestures at me.
“Go ahead.”
“Alpha Christina,” I say. She looks surprised, but we both get up and step to the front of the class where there are two chairs facing each other.
I lean forward. “I want to know how he did it. How did Alpha Sebastian gain the trust you needed for the sex class so quickly.”

When Liam called my name, I expected something ridiculous and snarky, maybe even trying to figure out how to get me into bed. Of all the questions that he could have asked, this is not one that I expected.
“You want to know how Sebastian gained my trust?” I ask slowly, as if I misheard him.
“Yes. Luna Mia won’t speak to me and if she won’t even talk to me, how am I supposed to pass the sex class. I don’t expect to get the fifty points, but there are thirty points available to all of us, and I’ll never get them if she won’t even speak to me.”
He’s serious, completely and totally serious. It’s really bothering him that she won’t speak to him. Well, if this is what he wants, then I hope he’s ready for the truth of my answer.
I lean forward, mirroring his posture.

do?” I say, pointing to Logan. “You walked out without even saying hello. How very arrogant and disrespectful of you. Then, in your first class, you try to prove a point without getting the consent that Alpha Sebastian told you that you are required to obtain, once again proving how disrespectful you are.
