“I love that idea. I know it was a lot to take in all at once and I don’t want to get lost,” she says.
“Me either. I can’t be late for class because I couldn’t find it,” I whisper conspiratorially. It’s not a large campus, and I’m pretty sure I won’t get lost, but I like the feeling that she and I are working together for the
same cause.
“Do you want to sit beside me while we hear what Alpha James has to say?” I ask her.
“The assistants all sit up in the front with the instructors. That’s what Christina told me anyway.”
“Okay, afterwards we can go for a walk then?”
“I’d love that.”
I watch her walk up to the front, feeling Noah nudge me from my right.
“She’s a cutie,” he murmurs.
“She’s too nice for you,” I say, feeling an unexpected wave of jealousy.
He snorts. “Charlotte’s pretty hot,” he says as we watch the others begin to file in.
“I’m holding out for Christina,” Liam says.
I’m not the only one who laughs at that.
“What?” he frowns, looking at us.

“No way she lets YOU touch her. She’s an Alpha, not some warrior who is going to fall at your feet, moron.” Ezra says.
“Oh, you think you have a better chance with her?” Liam asks.
“I have enough respect for her that I won’t be trying to get her into my bed. And I think she’ll respect that a whole lot more than the pitiful way you tried to hit on her. All of us saw that you only became interested once you realized she was an Alpha. You didn’t even bother remembering her name. Although how you didn’t smell the Alpha on her when you walked on the train is beyond me,” Ezra says.
“Scent isn’t my primary sense,” Liam growls.
“It isn’t mine either,” Ezra says.
“Alright everyone,” Alpha James begins and Charlotte walks over to us, handing out folders with this semester’s information enclosed.
I open mine immediately, quickly looking through it to see what information is available before refocusing on Alpha James.
“Let’s start with the class schedules and instructors. Classes run seven days a week. Monday through Thursday, you will have four classes a day. Friday through Sunday, you will have three. On those days, I suggest you use your free time to do homework or get with any of the instructors on areas where you are struggling. You have ten weeks to pass or fail this Academy. That doesn’t leave a lot of time for you to fall behind.”
It doesn’t leave ANY time to fall behind.
I pull out the class schedule noting the days for each class.
“Strength and sensory classes run five days a week. Communication runs four days, Managing the Pack, Pack Finances, and Dealing with
Crisis all run three days and the sex class runs two days.”
I follow along, seeing how they’ve broken up the classes so they can all be achieved in the week.
“Let’s start with the strength class. Alpha Sebastian will be the lead instructor for that class. His assistant this semester is Christina. As you know by now, Christina is not only an assistant this semester, but also a student. Alpha Daniel will be the back–up instructor for this class and Mia will be his assistant this semester.”
I look over at Christina. Of everyone here, she and Ezra are the two that I’ve deemed my true competition. Logan and Liam are too arrogant, and there’s something almost lazy about Noah. I think he’ll pass the Academy, but he won’t excel in it.
“The sensory class will be led by me. My strongest sense is hearing. My assistant this semester is Sylvie. Alphas Will and Daniel will be my back–ups in the class. Alpha Will’s strongest sense is sight and Alpha Daniel’s is smell. Make sure you know which instructor matches your own heightened sense. We’re going to improve all of your senses. but we’ll make sure to hone your strongest one. Alpha Will’s assistant this semester is Haley,” he says, and I turn, smiling at Haley. She blushes the prettiest shade of pink I’ve ever seen, and I feel Noah
nudge me again. I ignore him. Instead, I wink and I feel Noah
