I turn and look at the windows. I hadn’t realized that the afternoon and part of the evening had gone by.
“Did Sebastiana and Shane return?” I ask.
“They apparently snuck in the back. I guess Shane shredded his clothes when he shifted and Sebastiana was so worried about him, she did as well. I sent some food up to their rooms.”
“What about my parents?” I ask already knowing the answer. If they had emerged from their room, they would haye come to make sure everything was okay.
“I haven’t seen them.”
“Did you eat?” I ask, noticing that there is only one plate.
“I wasn’t sure if you needed some alone time. I can leave if you have work to do to get ready for tomorrow,” she says.
“Have the omegas bring another plate of food, Enya. We can talk through the next couple of days while we eat,” I tell her as I stand,

“Okay,” she says, sliding her fingers over my forearm. My body lights up with warm electricity, sending a wave of desire straight to my dick.
“We need to talk about that, Enya,” I say, turning to face her.
“About what?” she asks, just as there is a knock at the door.
“Come in,” I growl, keeping my eyes on Enya.
“Hey, Christian. I just wanted to check in after the interviews earlier. Is there anything else we need to do?” my father asks, walking in.
“Actually, yes. Have you and mom eaten?” I ask, turning to see my mother is with my father.
“No, we were just headed to the dining hall. Is everything okay?”
“I’ll get three more plates,” Enya says.
My parents are immediately alert.
“What happened?” my mother asks.
“The Council called. They’ll be here in the morning. Apparently, Alpha Colin’s medical records were concerning enough that several council members are coming tomorrow. And Shane and I learned that Alpha Colin murdered, purposefully poisoned with silver while he was in the hospital. Nurse Nancy told us everything. She doesn’t know who else is involved, but Dorian promised her the Luna position if she helped him.”

“Where’s Shane?” my mother asks.

“He and Sebi went for a run. Enya said they’re back and she sent food up.”
I move some things around on the table, making room so that when Enya returns with the trays of food, there is space for them on the table.
When she walks in, my parents step forward to help her with the trays. They set them on the table and then my mother turns to Enya.
“How are you doing, sweetheart?” she asks.
I watch Enya struggle to maintain her composure. My mother wraps her arms around her, and I grit my teeth as Enya loses her battle with her tears. I know this is incredibly hard for her. I can’t imagine dealing with the loss of my parents and then finding out that they were murdered on top of it.
“How many are coming?” my father asks while I watch my mother soothe Enya. I’m twitching to scoop her into my arms and comfort her.
“Four.”
He whistles low making me turn to look at him, raising an eyebrow.
