I turn and look at Christian.

I look at my brother. “Shane probably feels the same need, but Alpha Christina is right. Dorian is arrogant. He’ll never expect that two women would figure it out.”
“He’d never expect that I’d figure it out either,” Shane says, watching me then turning to Alpha Christina. “Is there a reason I couldn’t be there? An extra set of eyes and hands wouldn’t hurt and since I’m only sixteen, he’ll treat me like a pup rather than the Alpha heir.”
“I don’t have a problem with it,” Alpha Christina says, looking at Christian.
“Mom,” he begins. I reach out and put my hand on his arm.
“We need this, Christian. I know you’re worried about our safety, but Shane and I need this. We need to be a part of bringing down the ones who killed our parents. If it were your parents, would you let anything stand in your way?” I ask him.
He looks at me. When his lips press tightly together and his jaw clenches, I know I’ve won.
