‘I just reached out to her and asked. She said she can’t make it today.‘ ‘Why?‘ I ask, barely containing my fury.
I can tell he’s battling between protecting his sister and being honest with me.
‘She sounded like she was out for a run,‘ he finally says.
“Braden, Shane, can you guide the class through the maneuvers I just taught. I need to go check on something,” I say.
“Yes, Alpha,” Braden says. Shane nods, but he looks concerned. He probably should be. I have a very strong desire to put Enya over my knee and spank that obstinate ass of hers.
I force myself to walk casually away from warrior training. Once I hit the forest line, I strip quickly and shift, letting my wolf stretch while I search for her scent. When I catch it, I take off, running hard and fast.
I growl, but I keep it low, and I force my wolf to stay silent. He wants to howl that he’s on the hunt, but that will only warn her that I’m coming.
I keep our head low, following her trail. It seems like sh. looping the pack lands, staying as far away from warrior training as possible.
Her scent begins to get stronger, and I know I’m catching up to her. I’ve just followed her scent around the front of the packhouse, into the forest on the other side where very few people go. I’m even more angry now, because if someone was to go after her, this would be a perfect place to ambush her.

I turn a corner and catch a glimpse of red fur. I push my wolf harder and leap over some fallen debris that is in my way. The sound of our landing must have been loud enough for her to hear me because her wolf turns and sees me barreling down on her.
She gives a startled yelp and starts to push herself harder. I growl, this time loud enough for her to hear me and push my wolf as fast as he can run. Enya is large being an Alpha wolf, but my wolf is larger.
When I’m close enough, I leap, my wolf tackling hers to the ground. She begins to fight me, her wolf scrambling to get out from underneath me, but I bite down on the back of her neck, snarling as I blast through her mental walls.
“ENOUGH, ENYA! Do not make me force your submission!”
She yelps again. I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve pinned her by her neck or perhaps no one has ever forced themselves past her mental walls. Either way, it works, and I feel her wolf begin to calm underneath my hold.
I hold her there, physically making my point that she needs to calm herself. I force her mental walls to remain open, but I don’t push into her mind. I really don’t want to force her submission. I’m trying to force her compliance.
When I finally feel her mind and body relax, I slowly release my hold on her neck. I slowly lift my body off of hers and step back. As she slowly gets to her feet, I shift, standing in front of her, chest heaving with the force of my run and from my frustration and anger at her defiance.
“Shift!” I say. I don’t put my Alpha command behind it. I don’t want to I want her willing compliance.
When she doesn’t immediately respond, I feel my anger increasing.
