“I’m sorry, what?” Enya asks, the blush flushing her cheeks again.
“Why is there a sex class?” Shane asks.
“Because Alphas should be the best at everything. You go before you turn eighteen so there’s no concern about meeting your mate mid–year and causing problems.”
“What do they teach you?” Enya asks, frowning.
“Probably how to do all those things you read about in those steamy books that keep you up at night,” Shane says, teasing her. The blush on her cheeks goes from pink to red very quickly.
“Well, I don’t know what’s in your books, but the class teaches you how to please your partner. No two people are the same and learning how to pleasure your partner and make him or her orgasm with the best, strongest orgasm of their lives is the goal. Once you figure out how to give them that level of orgasm, then it’s a small step to figuring out how to make them come as many times as you want them too.”
“As many times…” Enya says, her eyes wide.
“How many times did you make your partner come?” Shane asks.
“That is between me and my partner. However, I will say that she had nothing but good things to say about me and both of us won points for the highest number of orgasms achieved in one sitting,” I say, remembering Talia telling me I’d ruined her for other men. She and I made good partners/ She had been my partner, and I had been hers for her sex class. Best fucking blow job of my life.
But it was more than that. We both knew the boundaries of the class and we became friends, really good friends, over the semester.
“What was her name?” Enya asks, snapping me out of the memory. If I didn’t know better, I’d say there was a bit of jealousy in Enya’s question.
“Talia. She ranked fifth on the leaderboard. She’s a damn fine Alpha,” I
say.
“Maybe she’s your mate,” Enya says. I tilt my head, wondering at the change in her tone. I swear she sounds jealous, but about what? Me. having sex or her not ever having had sex?
“No, she’s not. We both turned eighteen in the last week of class. She’s a great woman, but she’s not for me.”
“Is it weird? Having sex with a stranger that you then take classes with?” Shane asks.
“Yes and no. It depends on your partner and if they make it weird. There are classes for men and women. Talia and I chose to be partners for each other, but that’s not a requirement. If you follow the guidelines laid out by the Academy and you remain respectful, you can develop a close friendship with your partner. That’s what happened with Talia and I.”
“Do you keep in touch with her?” Enya asks.
“I haven’t talked to her since she got off the Train. That’s the only way to and from the Academy. But we were both looking for work and now I’m here. I’m sure we’ll talk soon.”
“Hmm,” she says, not meeting my eyes.
I narrow my eyes at her, but since Shane is here, I don’t want to push
her too hard about what’s bothering her.
“So, ready to show us this ordering system?” I ask her.
“Yeah, let’s do that,” she says, plastering a fake smile on her face.
I raise an eyebrow at her demeanor, but she ignores me. I’ll have to make time to speak to Enya about what this is about. I don’t want any festering negativity between us. I’m trying to build trust and respect and whatever this is will definitely get in the way of that.
