Chapter 6 I’ll Gift This Luck To You
Those men stared at Rachel, longing to cling themselves to her.

Rachel remained composed. She smiled and asked, “Zane indeed did not have the luck, but do you all think you have it?”
As soon as these words were spoken, the lively atmosphere in the private room suddenly changed into quietness.
Playing with her wine glass, she scanned the room. “I don’t even think highly of someone like Zane, so what makes you think I would look up to all of you? I’m genuinely curious. What did Henry talk to you to give you the confidence to sit here?”
After hearing those words, the men’s faces shifted between shades of pale and red. They did not expect Rachel would criticize them out of nowhere.
Slam!
A chubby man slammed the table in anger. “Rachel, do you really think you’re someone special? You’re just a second–hand item divorced by Zane. And now you’re pretending to be so high and mighty in front of us!”
“Hmph, studying abroad? What a lousy excuse to polish your reputation as a divorced woman,” another sneered.
At that moment, the man closest to Rachel placed a hand on her shoulder. He had a sly smile on his face. “Rachel, as a woman, you’d better be sensible. You’re nothing but what Zane left behind. Don’t think of yourself as some high–class socialite. Otherwise, why would Henry be so desperate to marry you off again? It is your luck that we’re still interested in you.”
His words drew laughter throughout the room.
“Then I’ll gift this ‘luck‘ to you.” While speaking, Rachel picked up the wine glass and splashed it on his face.
The man who was splashed with wine cursed. He immediately grabbed her arm to give her a piece of his mind.
Unexpectedly, the door burst open. Zane locked eyes with the person that he couldn’t forget in his mind.
“Mr. Jenkins…” The whole room fell silent.
What was Zane doing here?

With a dark expression, Zane walked straight toward Rachel. His icy gaze fell upon the man who was grabbing her arm. The man immediately let go in fear.
Rachel was not surprised by his arrival. Instead, she smiled charmingly as if she was seeing an old friend.
“Mr. Jenkins, long time no see.”
Zane took a deep breath–Rachel was indeed alive.
The moment he saw her outside the door, his strong intuition urged him to investigate. Who would have thought that the result of his investigation would lead him to know that Ms. Freeman was here for a blind date?
He thought it was Ella, but the waiter said it was Rachel. Refusing to believe it, he impulsively came over to see for himself, only to find that it was indeed Rachel on a blind date with a group of men. For some reason, anger surged in his heart.
“Seven years without contact, and now you’re in such a hurry to remarry? Speed–dating this many at once?” He squinted, his gaze had a mix of joy and anger.
Rachel’s every expression and smile seemed charming. “Yes, after all, I’m quite old now. It’s about time I settled down. But I didn’t expect to meet a bunch of losers.”
Suddenly, she chirped, “What’s even worse is that they dared speak ill of you in front of me. They were tarnishing your reputation. I was so angry that I splashed red wine on him, but I didn’t expect to get nearly beaten up. Mr. Jenkins, since I’ve offended people for your sake, aren’t you going to stand up for me?”
“Oh?”
That single “oh” sound immediately frightened the men who dared not to breathe.
Someone immediately protested, “Mr. Jenkins, don’t listen to her nonsense! How could we speak ill of you? It’s this woman who has no manners, and we…”
“Who do you think I’m more inclined to believe? My ex–wife or strangers?” Zane’s expression was cold and gloomy.
