When they decided to move, they moved right away.
Fortunately, Rachel didn’t have much to pack. They worked through the night, and by the time everything was in place, dawn was already breaking.
After ensuring the two children were asleep, Rachel returned to the living room to sit and talk with Sarah and Harry.
“It’s dangerous for them to stay here,” she said.
“It’s a bit risky,” Harry admitted, raising an eyebrow, “but as long as Zane doesn’t find out where we’re hiding them, they should be safe–for now. Besides, didn’t you say you were planning to speed things up?”
Sarah, still chewing on her food, looked over curiously. “If we shorten the timeline, will that mess up your plan, Rachel? Will you still have enough time to find the culprit and deal with the Freeman family?”
Rachel gave a firm nod. “Yes.”
Harry studied her for a moment, sensing more than she was letting on.
“Rachel, if things start to move too fast, you can leave the kids with me and Sarah,” he said gently. “We’ll look after them. That way, you can focus on what you need to do. They seem like really good kids.”
“And if Zane was really going to find out where they are, he would’ve already tracked them down abroad by now. Since nothing happened, we’ll keep hiding them–they won’t be discovered.”
“That’s all we can do,” Rachel said, frowning.
“Alright, don’t worry so much. Things might not be as bad as we think. I thought I’d have to wait until we went abroad with you to see Alyssa and Nick, but I’ve decided–I will be their godmother! We’ll have to hold a little ceremony soon.”
“In that case, I can’t miss out. I’ll be their godfather,” Harry chimed in.
A small smile appeared on Rachel’s face. “No objections here. They’ll be happy about that.”
With the heavy topic set aside, the three of them quickly discussed the schedule and who would look after the children during this period.
In the end, Rachel decided to let the kids stay for now.

The next day, Rachel waited for Sarah to arrive at her house before hurrying off to work at
the research
She kept an eye on entertainment news, and the message she’d sent to James last night still hadn’t been answered. When she called, no one picked up.
All Rachel could do was send another message, reassuring him not to worry, before quickly diving back into work.
Back at home, the two little ones were in the bathroom brushing their teeth, while Sarah bustled around the kitchen, making breakfast.
Alyssa looked puzzled. “Nick, why did we change the plan and let them find us?”
Nick kept brushing and calmly answered, “Because I discovered something interesting.”
Alyssa’s eyes sparkled with curiosity. “What is it?”
Nick kept her in suspense. “I’ll tell you once I’ve figured it all out.”
Alyssa pouted. “Nick, does what you found out mean we have to let Mommy find us? That bad guy gets to see her every day. What if he finds us, too?”
But Nick didn’t look the least bit worried. “I want him to find out,” he said calmly. “I want him to know what it feels like to want something he can’t have.”

They were twins, and even if Nick didn’t say much, Alyssa knew he wouldn’t do anything reckless. If he was acting this way, he must have his reasons. She just had to follow his lead.
-After rinsing his mouth, Nick turned to Alyssa. “You need to go see Great–grandpa again.”
Alyssa’s face lit up with delight. “Really? I can see Great–grandpa again?”
“Just wait. I’ll make it happen for you,” Nick promised.
