Rachel’s frown was barely noticeable as she declined the call, lifted her glass with the others, and downed her drink in one go.
But before she could catch her breath, Zane called again.
What is wrong with this man? she thought, increasingly irritated.
She still didn’t answer, but a message popped up almost immediately. “If you don’t want me to make a havoc out of this, come out here yourself.”
Rachel nearly cursed out loud.
Jordan seemed to catch the shift in her expression. “Selena, do you need to step out for something?”
Rachel had no idea what Zane was up to, but she didn’t want him showing up and ruining the mood. “Yeah, something urgent came up at work. I need to head back for a bit. Benson, Lucy, you’re not leaving tomorrow or the day after, right? I’ll catch up with you then.”
Lucy and Benson both nodded.
Jordan asked, “Do you need a ride?”
“No, it’s fine.”
Rachel hurriedly grabbed her bag and coat and left. Jordan, however, noticed the subtle shift in her expression.
Once outside the private room, she answered Zane’s call.
A cold, angry male voice came through. “Finally willing to pick up?”

Zane ended the call. For the second time that night, Rachel had to fight the urge to curse out loud. Swallowing her frustration, she headed to the parking lot–and spotted his Cullinan right away.
