Daisy’s gaze held émotions that were hard to hide. She dared not look directly into Rachel’s eyes and said with her head down, “I have already turned out like this. What more do you Want from me?”
“I don’t want anything. I just came to see how you are doing.”
Upon hearing this, Daisy felt restless.
“Daisy, your daughter should be twenty–four by now. It’s a good age to find a good job, then a nice boyfriend to marry. Do you want me to help you with that?”
The moment these words were spoken, Daisy became agitated. She stood up suddenly and pressed her hands against the glass window, pleading, “Ms. Freeman, I have apologized to you and admitted my mistake. My child knows nothing. She is innocent. I beg you, do not harm her. I beg you.”
“It seems like you hadn’t thought of ensuring everything was settled for your daughter before going into jail?”
Daisy just kept apologizing. “Ms. Freeman, I beg you. I can endure any punishment, as long as you don’t harm my daughter.”
Rachel raised an eyebrow and asked, “Should I?”
Upon hearing this, Daisy almost broke down. “Ms. Freeman, tell me, what do you want me to do in order for you to spare my daughter?”
“Were you the one who tampered with the wine back then?”
Daisy hesitated. In the end, she still struggled before saying, “Yes, it was me.”
“Do you think I can believe what you’re saying?”
Daisy remained silent.
Rachel smiled slightly and said, “I understand why you can’t tell me the truth. The person told you not to say it verbally, but they didn’t say you couldn’t nod or shake your head. Is that right?”
Daisy, upon hearing this, looked at her in slight surprise. That seemed to make sense.
“Are you really planning to stay here forever?”
“No, I don’t want to.”

Daisy wavered. She hesitated, but eventually nodded.
Rachel asked, “It wasn’t really you who drugged me, was it?”
She nodded.
Rachel continued, “It was Zane who forbade you from telling the truth.”
She both nodded and shook her head.
Rachel asked again, “The person who drugged me is someone very important to Zane.”
Suddenly, Daisy’s whole body froze.
Her behaviour made Rachel even more certain of who the person who drugged her then was.
In Wanda City, Chris personally selected the nanny for Nick and Allie before he went to work.
He stood in front of Nick and Allie and said, “Before I come back, you must listen to the nanny’s instructions obediently, okay? If anything happens, call me. I also left my manager’s number. If you can’t reach me, contact the manager. Is that clear?”
Allie nodded obediently. “I understand, Uncle Chris. Good luck at work and remember to bring gifts for me when you return.”
“No problem.”
Chris was very reluctant to leave the two little ones. Before leaving, he specifically instructed the nanny to take good care of them.
After sending Chris away, the two children held hands and went back to their room. The nanny said nothing and started working on preparing their snacks and lunch.
Allie said excitedly, “Nick, Uncle Chris finally left. When are we going to take action?”
Nick, holding a tablet in his hand, showed a picture of the hospital entrance on it. “Has the thing arrived?”
“Of course I have completed the task you gave me,” Allie said with a smile.
Nick smirked. Enlarging the picture of the hospital, he memorised the address on it, and said, “Okay, let’s get ready. Let’s execute the first step of the plan this afternoon.”
