Chapter 22 Find Out Who Did This!
Inside the private room of a restaurant, Rachel briefly explained what happened seven years ago, as well as the news of her giving birth to two fraternal twins and her current job.
Clatter–
Harry’s chopsticks fell on the table and Sarah almost choked on her red wine.
“Hang on, hang on. You’re gonna go back to that jerk Zane again?”
“It’s only for work.” Rachel explained by saying, “The project he’s managing can boost my career. I also need to settle some scores with him.”
Harry seized an important point and said, “Seven years ago, when you had that motorcycle accident, I tried to investigate using my connections. However, all traces of the incident were wiped clean and I couldn’t even find out who the culprit was. I found it very suspicious back then. Rachel, did you really hear correctly that the culprit was Zane?”
“Yeah.”
“Damn it!” Sarah cursed.
Harry furrowed his brow. “If it really was him, at the very least we need some evidence to prove it.” After a pause, he asked seriously, “Rachel, he is the father of your two children after all. Have you thought about how you will explain his existence to the kids in the future?”
“I will never let them know about Zane’s existence,” said Rachel firmly. Looking at their concerned gaze, she smiled slightly. “Don’t think of me as the person I was seven years ago. Since I chose to return now, it means I am fully prepared for everything.”
Sarah nodded. “I will definitely support you. If that scoundrel really is the mastermind working behind the scenes, we must make him pay. Right, Harry?”
Harry agreed. “That’s for sure. But Rachel, how do you plan on beginning your investigation? I have some saved data here, but it has been wiped clean, so we may not find any useful clues. If you want to accuse Zane of his crimes, you must have enough evidence.”
“I know, I will find a way.”
Sarah looked at Rachel with pity while asking, “Rachel, it must be very frustrating since you have to work with him even now.”
Rachel smiled. “It’s not frustrating. As long as it goes well, I can enter the research institute I have been aiming for.”

Sarah had nothing to say to that, so she could only give Rachel a big hug. “If you need me and Harry for anything, you have to let us know, okay?”
“She’s right. Don’t shoulder everything yourself when you have us,” nagged Harry.
Rachel raised her glass and gave a toast. “Here’s to our reunion.”
Harry and Sarah raised their glasses one after the other. The three of them smiled at each other, glad that they reunited today.
Meanwhile, an unexpected system malfunction occurred at the five–star hotel owned by TN Group. The fire alarm system went off randomly and the sprinkler sensors automatically activated. The hotel rooms and various areas were already flooding, and all staff were working frantically to solve the situation.
The incident occurred very suddenly. Zane left Janice behind at home once again and rushed to the scene himself.
Seeing the entire hotel in chaos, he furrowed his brow.
They worked tirelessly for five hours trying to salvage the situation, all the way until one in the morning.
Colin hurried out from inside and reported, “Mr. Jenkins, it’s a hacker intrusion.”
“Did you find out which hacker it was?”
“I couldn’t find them because they are anonymous. Probably a hacker hired from the dark market.”
Zane’s expression darkened and he asked coldly, “How much is the loss?”
Colin lowered his gaze and said, “From current estimation, at least 300 million.”
As the words fell, Colin clearly felt the temperature of the atmosphere around Zane drop. After all, such a thing had never happened before. Today’s incident was clearly a warning given to Zane.
And it was very blatant and arrogant.
“Find out who did this! Find out who was responsible no matter what it takes!”
