Zane followed her out from behind. As she was about to get in the car, he slammed the car door shut with a loud bang.
Zane then grabbed Rachel by her wrist.
“It’s not gentlemanly of you to grab someone like this in public, Zane.“.
“I won’t take much of your time. I can drive you there and we can continue our conversation in the car.”
Zane had a serious look on his face, leaving no room for her to question him. As Rachel struggled to get out of his grip, he lowered his head and whispered in her ear, “Feel free to cause a scene if you want everyone in the research institute to know about our relationship.”
Rachel gritted her teeth and glared at him. Then, she was forcibly taken away.
Rebecca, who was sitting in the driver’s seat all this time was stunned. She never expected Rachel and Zane to be this close.
Zane’s car drove away.
The partition wall was pulled down, leaving only the two of them in the rear seats.
“What do you want to talk about?” Rachel furrowed her brows as she asked.
“What do you think?” Zane retorted coldly.
Rachel let out a soft chuckle. “Didn’t you want me to keep personal emotions out of the decision–making, Mr. Jenkins?”
“Yes, and?” Zane placed his hand onto the back of her seat, gradually leaning closer to her, “Isn’t this what you want, to see me let my emotions take over?”
“It’s nice to see how you’re no longer so cold–hearted after all these years, Mr. Jenkins. But who would’ve thought that you became so shameless now?” Rachel didn’t move an inch. She was staring into Zane’s eyes, remaining calm.
He asked, “What else should I do to secure the project?”
Upon hearing his question, Rachel took out an agreement she prepared earlier from her bag and handed it to him. “If you accept all the terms listed inside, I’ll consider working with you.”

Ane took the agreement.
Rachel tapped on the partition wall. “Pull over please.”
Colin immediately halted at the side.
Rachel got out of the car. “Mr. Jenkins, if you can agree to all the conditions, just have your assistant inform me directly.”
Zane was gripping the document. He watched as Rachel left with a gloomy expression.
Colin then drove away.
Zane was reading the newly added terms in the agreement.
Colin could tell that Zane was not happy about the conditions. Boldly, he voiced, “This project is crucial for us, Mr. Jenkins. We’ve looked into her capabilities and she is the best fit for us. I think the reason why Ms. Freeman hasn’t agreed to this is probably because…”
“Get in touch with Mr. Riley. I need to have a video call with him.”
Rachel met up with Jordan as promised.
She was looking at the project proposal that Jordan had just handed over. Before she could say anything, she received a call from her teacher, Davis Riley. “Sorry, I need to take this call.”
She got up and went to the balcony. “Mr. Riley.”
“Have you not finalized the project partner yet, Rachel?”
“Not yet.”
“I know what you’re thinking.”
-Rachel stared into the distance. “I have my judgment, Mr. Riley.”
“I know I shouldn’t interfere in your private affairs, but I just wanted to let you know that it’ll be a giant leap toward your dream if you cooperate with TN Group and succeed in the project. Isn’t it your dream to work at the International Research Institute?
“Listen, Rachel, you should complete this project first. And after you have the experience and achievements, you can give more thought to what happened before. Do you think I sent you to Guardia just to let you do your own thing? I thought you would know even if I never directly said to choose TN Group as the partner. Who knew you were here just for what happened in the past?”
