Chapter 18
“No, I won’t eat!” Caitlyn turned her head away, swallowing hard.
Leon smirked, strolled over to the stall, and bought two hot dogs.
Sprinkled with cumin and chili powder, the sizzling hot dogs looked extra tempting.
Meanwhile, Caitlyn stood frozen on the opposite side of the street, watching him coldly.
Her phone buzzed with a payment alert.
The jerk used her card, spending her money.
‘Anyway, I would absolutely not eat it!‘ she swore inwardly.
Leon didn’t care about her icy glare, holding two hot dogs and strolling back to her side.
He opened his mouth and took a big bite, eyes squinting in enjoyment.
“So yummy!” he praised.
Caitlyn’s eyelid twitched fiercely, saliva flooding her mouth, but she still said stubbornly, “It’s all a bit burnt. You can tell it won’t taste good just by looking at it!”
“Uh huh.” Leon took another bite and started walking forward, showing no intention of sharing it. He turned around, puzzled. “Not coming?”
Caitlyn froze for a moment, then gritted her teeth and rushed past him.
‘Bastard! He… he… really didn’t give it to me… not even asking again! Bastard! Big bastard! Super duper big bastard!‘ she cursed inwardly.
Leon was still enjoying the hot dogs, bite after bite, the crispy skin of the hot dogs crackling extra tempting.
The sound was like magic to Caitlyn’s ears, itching her bones.
Caitlyn held her breath and hurried forward with her head down, while Leon kept up with quick steps, never leaving her side, the sound of eating clearly reaching her ears.
Her little fists gradually clenched tighter and tighter, her cheeks flushing red.
Finally, at the sight of Leon finishing one hot dog and opening his gaping maw to bite into the next one, Caitlyn closed her eyes, unable to hold it together any longer.
“Leon, you… mmm…” Caitlyn’s voice paused as her little mouth suddenly got blocked.
She reflexively bit down and widened her eyes.
Leon’s eyes, filled with mirth, met her startled gaze.
He chuckled softly, “I what?“;
Caitlyn snatched the hot dog, her face red, full of resentment. “Bad guy!”
“Bad guy, it is then. I don’t wanna be a hero anyway.” Leon shrugged indifferently.
Caitlyn chomped away like a little hamster, her cheeks puffing up as she muttered, “I was determined not to eat. It’s all your fault, I broke my diet.
“You’re not fat at all, Caitlyn. Why torture yourself like that?”

I’ve gained a bit! Girls need to control their weight, you know?”
“But you’re so cute now. I don’t think you’re fat; if anything, you’re a bit too skinny. A little more weight would be better.” Leon made a square with his hands and gestured toward her.
Caitlyn’s heart skipped a beat, then raced.
Her rosy cheeks flushed red under the warm, yellowish light, like a flower blooming suddenly in the night, swaying gently as the light flickered.
Somehow, Caitlyn felt flustered. She avoided Leon’s gaze, quickly lowering her head and walking forward, leaving only a soft murmur. “You flirt…”
She wasn’t happy about that compliment. And she could feel her heartbeat was so loud.
Leon stood there, staring at her retreating figure for a moment, then walked quickly over with a slight frown, crossing his arms in mild annoyance,
‘I was complimenting her, but she actually scolded me! What a terrible personality! But since she paid for the hot dogs, I’d forgive her this time!” he said inwardly.
After wandering around outside for a while, Caitlyn wasn’t sure how many calories she burned, but she knew one thing for sure–there was definitely an extra hot dog in her stomach.
Back home, Caitlyn sighed softly, feeling less anxious than before.
She glanced at Leon, her cheeks still warm despite the night breeze.
‘Complimenting girls comes so naturally to him. He must have fooled around with many girls before!‘ she thought.
“I’m going to take a shower.”
Her mood gradually calmed down. Caitlyn stretched lazily, sat on the sofa for a while, then got up and headed to the bathroom.
A shower to strengthen her resolve.
Meanwhile, Leon opened his phone and started scrolling through boring short videos.
Seeing those long legs and big boobs on full display, he sneered, scrolling down without hesitation.
‘Pathetic algorithm; no one can compare to Caitlyn,‘ he thought.,
Another one about those blindingly leggy things… Skip! Next was a piece of beasts news.
Reports said that some beasts seemed to have evolved some pretty freaky abilities, and the Human Alliance was currently investigating it. The Demons was like, “Not me, don’t look at me!”
Sliding, next one…
With the sound of Caitlyn taking a shower in the background, Leon was scrolling through short videos with extra enthusiasm.
Before he knew it, she was out of the shower.
Caitlyn rubbed her wet hair, turned around, and walked into the bedroom to blow–dry it. Leon glanced at her for a moment, then set down her phone, stretched lazily, and grabbed her underwear before heading to the bathroom.
Just as he took off his shirt and was about to undress, there was a sudden, urgent knock on the door.
Leon opened the door, puzzled, to see the blonde girl outside.
Caitlyn shot him a glance, her brow furrowing slightly as she squeezed through to retrieve her clothes and white stockings. She paused at the door, then turned her head back to look at him, “Remember not to get it wet. And, I think it’s about time to change the bandage, too?

Chapter 18
“Your injury is special, but Germaine said it’s best to change the bandage frequently.
“I forgot to ask Germaine to come today. But we have the necessary medicine and bandages at home.
“Do you want my help?”
Leon hesitated, not wanting her to see his messy state, and gently shook his head. “I’ll do it myself.”
Caitlyn slowly straightened up, expressionless, staring at him, and asked, “Can you apply medicine to your own back?”
Leon lowered his head and whispered, “I think I can.”
Caitlyn took a deep breath, feeling a surge of annoyance somehow. She said coldly, “I’ll wait for you in the living room.”
‘Idiot! I don’t know what he’s being stubborn about all of a sudden. Doesn’t he like sticking to me?‘ she said inwardly.
The door closed, and Leon turned to look at himself in the mirror with bandages wrapped around him, gently sighing.
He lowered his head and gently touched the wound, a helpless smile on his face.
The reason for his attitude change was actually quite simple. Men always liked to be tough in certain areas, especially in front of… a former good rival.
Caitlyn was waiting, and Leon dared not scrub recklessly anymore, fearing he might wet the wound and meet with a torrent of scolding.
After all the tossing and turning, it was time to wash the… the robust legs and then dry off.
Stepping out, he found Caitlyn was sitting in a chair, blow–drying her hair.
Leon, with his upper body wrapped in bandages and completely bare, gazed at her longingly for a moment before slowly approaching and asking, “Need any help?”
“No!” Caitlyn glared at him, her cheeks slightly flushed.
‘What an idiot! If it were any other demon girl, she would’ve slapped him. Lucky I’ve got a good temper!‘ she thought.
“Go sit over there. I’ll be right over to help you change the dressing!” she said.
