“Let go of me! How dare you! Don’t you know who I am? I’m Mrs. Laurence! I’m carrying the eldest grandson of the Laurence family! When Dexter gets back, he’ll have every one of you killed
Heidi struggled wildly, desperate and furious. After all her scheming to get pregnant, she never imagined Dexter would order her to abort without even seeing her.
She refused to believe it. In her mind, Dexter must have found Blythe and that Blythe was secretly behind this.
She had to hold on, hold on, until Dexter came to her rescue.
“Take your filthy hands off me! Do you think you have the right to touch me? If you harm a single hair on my head today, the Ambrose family won’t let this go!”
She even invoked the Ambrose name, but the Ambrose family had already been crushed by her father’s ruin.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been forced to seduce old men and beg Dexter to marry her in name only.
“Miss Ambrose, we were just following orders. The doctor assigned to you was the best there wouldn’t be any pain or harm at all.”
The staff smiled politely, though they rolled their eyes behind closed doors, doing their best to calm her
“Let me go! I want to see ray mother–in–law! She would never allow anyone to harm the Laurence family’s only grandchild! Get away! Whatever Blythe paid you, I’ll double it! Triple it even!”
“Don’t listen to Blythe! If anything happens to my child, she won’t be able to save you either! When Dexter finds out, he’ll bury you all with me!”
Heidi kept resisting, blaming everything on Blythe. She believed deeply that no elder could bear to lose a grandchild.
“Miss Ambrose, don’t blame us. Hold her down!”
A nurse behind her raised a syringe, signaling the others.
“You’re insane! All of you are crazy!” Heidi screamed, pulling out her phone to call for help. “Let me go!”
Dexter glanced down at his phone. It didn’t ring. So Heidi hadn’t called him after all.
That child. He stepped into the room from behind, looming over Heidi, who lay crumpled on the floor
She scrambled up at once and threw herself into his arms.
“Brother Dexter! I knew you wouldn’t bear to lose our child! If you’d come any later, they would’ve killed our baby”
“Brother Dexter, I don’t want anything else. I don’t need a title, and I won’t fight Blythe for you. As long as she lets the baby be born safely, and the child can see his father now and then, that’s enough. I’ll even beg her, our child is innocent!”

Heidi’s voice trembled with desperation, but Dexter pulled away and fixed her with a cold stare. His smile sent a chill down Heidi’s spine.
“Really? You want nothing else? Just to have the baby?”
Heidi nodded fiercely. As long as she could have the baby, she didn’t need anything more. Onc the child was born, he’d secure her a share of the Laurence fortune.
“Alright. Then have the baby.” Dexter’s smile lingered.
Heidi was stunned by how easily everything unfolded. When she tried to throw herself back into his arms, he stepped aside again.
“We’re married now. It’s not proper for you to keep living at the Laurence house. And with the baby on the way…”
Heidi trailed behind him, her sniffles softening as she clung to his words.
“Then, can I stay at the family villa? Mama’s so lonely, I could keep her company!”
Dexter couldn’t help but snort at her sudden change in tone.
“The hillside villa isn’t convenient. Especially with all Mom’s friends coming over for cards.
“I can live anywhere, really. As long as Sister Blythe isn’t upset…”
I’ve already arranged a duplex at Roseville Residence. You can stay there for now. If you neec anything, just tell the assistant.”
Dexter gently ushered Heidi into the assistant’s car.
When she heard “Roseville Residence,” her face drained of color, and she quickly lowered her eyes, though Dexter caught the subtle flicker.
‘I want to be with you, Brother Dexter, the baby…”
Heidi tried to plead, but Dexter cut her off sharply.
‘Worried you won’t get along with the nanny? I’ve already called Uncle Blake. Granny Willow, whc raised you, will come to take care of you.”
At last, Heidi visibly relaxed.
Once the car drove away, Dexter returned to the company and sifted through the files from his
private investigator.
The deeper he dug, the hotter his temper flared, and he slammed his fist onto the desk.
The secretary knocked and stepped in, tapping a few keys.
A live feed flickered on the screen, showing Heidi settling into her new home.
While Dexter wasn’t around, Heidi shed her fragile, gentle act completely. She barked commands at the assistant with arrogant ease, fully aware that no one dared to report her to “Mrs. Laurence.”
After the assistant left, Heidi methodically inspected every room.
Once she was satisfied, she pulled out her phone and made a lengthy half–hour video call before stepping out.
“President Laurence, should we keep deploying resources overseas to find Miss Griggs?”
“Keep searching! Spare no expense! Even if she’s at the farthest corners of the earth, I will bring

“Anyone who has ever harmed her will pay dearly.”
