It was as if he didn’t want to show his vulnerable side to someone miliar.
Lucas could empathize, but he still felt a bit annoyed.
Was this subordinate being a little too dramatic?
Aurora, however, didn’t see it that way.
She only felt a twinge of sympathy,
After all, Ian had been with her for a long time.
He’d always worked under her and was one of her most capable aides.
Now, seeing him like this so suddenly, she didn’t even know how to deal with a man crying,
“Alright, it’s only been a month. Are you really going to get all sen mental with me right now?”
Aurora teased with a smile, “What happened to your manliness?”
Then she gave his shoulder a light punch, offering encouragement
That little gesture made Ian break into a smile, because the familiar feeling was back.
“No, I’m just being overly emotional.”
He quickly wiped away his tears and looked at Aurora with a smile in his eyes. “Miss Aurora, I’m really happy you’re back.
“The employees and I all missed you these past few weeks.”
Aurora nodded. “I understand. Once this period settles down, I’ll arrange a team dinner.”
She knew very well in her heart that she still had a group of employees truly willing to follow her.
Even after so much time had passed, their feelings toward her hadn’t changed.
Just that alone was something to be grateful for.
No matter how hard a boss worked, without a strong team, it would be pointless.
It was like leading an army–no general could win without skilled and cooperative soldiers.
So, she truly cherished this group of people.
Ian nodded eagerly. “I’m sure everyone will be thrilled to hear that ”
Aurora pressed her lips into a smile and didn’t continue the sentimental talk.
There would be plenty of chances later–for now wasn’t the time.
“Alright, we’ll talk about that later.”
She extended her hand. “Where are the documents I asked you to bring?”
“They’re all here.”
Ian respectfully held up the files in his hands.
“I’ve handled many of the company’s projects over the past month”
He paused, then added, “Especially the ones under our division–Ive been following up diligently, but…”
Aurora took the stack of contracts and returned to her office chair

Hearing the word “but,” she froze slightly, a sense of unease cree ng in. “But what?”
Tan hesitated, unsure how to respond.
“If you’ve got something to say, just say it.
Aurora frowned, clearly growing impatient.
She had just returned and needed the most accurate information not vague delays.
If everyone acted like Ian, how was shie supposed to run this company?
Still, she didn’t say it outright.
Instead, her index finger began tapping against the desk, the rhythm picking up speed.
Ian flinched.
He knew that was Aurora’s sign of irritation.
If he didn’t speak properly now, he was definitely going to get scolded.
But even so, he genuinely didn’t know how to put it into words.
Lucas glanced over, puzzled.
He was starting to wonder too.
Could it really be that hard to say?
He had already instructed Desmond to keep an eye on Walton Corporation.
If there had been any serious issues, he would’ve known.
So, Lucas didn’t think it could be anything major.
If that was the case, then why was Ian hemming and hawing like this?
