She knew he wanted the company to remain stable and untroubled during this past month.

Still, choosing to believe rather than doubt, lan picked up the call
“Hello, lan?”
The moment he heard that familiar voice, lan’s eyes instantly welled up.
He shot to his feet, unsure of how to react.
On the other end, Aurora exchanged a puzzled glance with Lucas, confused by the silence.
What was going on with lan?

“Then why didn’t you tell me? I could’ve come to pick you up.‘
Ian sounded a little lost. Wasn’t he the one Aurora trusted most?
Why hadn’t he been informed about the exact time she returned?
If word got out, wouldn’t it make him look like a subordinate out of the loop with his boss?
Aurora replied awkwardly, “It’s fine. I managed on my own.”
