Chapter 925
Hearing Judy say all that, the complaints Joseph had been holding onto began to fade.
After all, everything she was doing was for him.
At this point, the two of them were practically supporting each other.
And both had included the other in their future plans.
That thought alone brought a deeper curve to Joseph’s smile.
“In the end, it’s still you by my side.”
He nuzzled her cheek affectionately, the two of them nestled together like entwined swans.
Judy, who had once found such gestures uncomfortable, now accepted them without resistance.
It was all part of the plan.
As long as it brought Aurora down, everything was worth it.
Judy smiled. “If I’m not here for you, who else would be? Your petty ex–girlfriend, Aurora?”
The jab landed hard, a direct blow to Joseph’s ego.
He hadn’t expected Judy to bring up Aurora at a time like this.
It genuinely caught him off guard.
But he couldn’t figure out why she’d even mention her.
Wasn’t that just inviting bad luck?
And really, after all this time, it should’ve been ancient history.
“Judy, why bring up Aurora out of nowhere?”
His tone betrayed a flicker of displeasure.
“That’s all in the past. Right now, you’re the only one I care about
Judy simply smiled.
She reached up and hooked a finger under his chin, her smile seductive and beguiling. “Is that so, Joseph?”
Joseph rarely saw that kind of smile from her. His heart softened instantly.
“Of course. Every word I said is true.”
As Joseph spoke, he swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing with tension.
Judy noticed and knew right away that she still had a hold on him.
If not, he wouldn’t be reacting like this.
As long as desire remained, there was no reason to worry about his loyalty.
Suddenly, Joseph remembered how long it had been since they’d last been intimate.
Without warning, he swept Judy into his arms and strode toward the office lounge.
Startled, Judy let out a cry, wrapping her arms around his neck and scolding him, “Joseph, what are you doing? This is still the studio! Put me down!”
But Joseph was already set on his course. “Judy, it’s been too long really missed you.”
The problem was–Judy had spent the last few days tangled up with Kenneth, and her body hadn’t fully recovered.
There was no way she could go through something like this so soon.
And if they really did it, it’d be too easy to give herself away.
“No, no–I’m about to start my period,” she said in a flustered rush.
“And besides, we’re in the studio. It’s not right to do this the moment I get back.”
Joseph tilted his head and looked at her distressed expression.
Seeing that, his suspicion faded.
Reluctantly, he set her down.
“I’ll get you some ginger tea with brown sugar, then.”
Though disappointed, Joseph still wanted to take care of her.
Judy had indeed been through a lot recently.
Hearing that, Judy finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Since he said that, it meant he hadn’t grown suspicious.
She quickly waved her hand. “Thank you, Joseph, but I’m really not that delicate.
