Especially Megan–no matter what Aurora was going through, as long as she saw her, the whole world seemed to brighten.
Aurora rubbed her head, then looked up and met Lucas‘ gaze.
He chuckled and said, “You saw that. It has nothing to do with me Megan’s the one who doesn’t want to leave, so we’ll all just stay with you.”
Aurora nodded helplessly.
She originally wanted them to go out and enjoy a proper meal.
She could’ve just made do with something simple.
Besides, she didn’t want Megan breathing in the constant smell of disinfectant.
She worried it might affect her health.
But Aurora had also noticed.
Ever since she woke up this time, Megan’s attitude toward her had changed.
She’d become more clingy, more attached, almost like she didn’t want to be apart from her for even a moment.
Aurora had no choice but to compromise. “Alright then. Just order something else for yourselves. Don’t worry about me.”
She didn’t want the people around her to keep compromising themselves because of her.
They had already gone through so much for her.
So why make them suffer more?
But the three of them exchanged a glance and, without saying a word, all chose to stay with Aurora.
Faced with that, she hesitated for a moment but didn’t say anything in the end.
After all, she had expected this.
After the meal, Megan and Leonard returned to the hotel.
Lucas lay on the other side of the hospital bed, reaching over to pull Aurora into his arms.
Feeling that familiar warmth in his embrace, his restless heart finally settled a little.
The drifting and unease from before had finally settled.
It wasn’t like how it used to be.
Aurora gently wrapped her arms around Lucas in return, the two of them holding each other tightly.
“Lucas, we really went in one big circle.”
“I’ve been looking for you for so, so long…
“But luckily, I didn’t lose you. In the end, everything turned out alright.”
These last two lines, Aurora silently added in her heart.
Lucas was moved by what she said.
He rested his chin on the top of her head and softly echoed, “Yeah, we really did take a big detour. But thankfully, we still ended up in the right place. That hasn’t changed.”

The smile on Aurora’s face was about to overflow.
The two of thenr stayed in each other’s arms, quietly enjoying this moment of peace.
Suddenly, Lucas remembered the call from earlier in the day and shared the contents of the conversation with Aurora.
Between them, he didn’t want to keep anything hidden.
Aside from his current identity, he wanted to be completely open with her.
When she heard what happened to Tessa and Julian, Aurora was stunned.
She asked the same question Lucas had earlier that day. “Is Julian really insane?”
Something about it didn’t sit right with her.
Lucas‘ tone carried a hint of doubt. “I don’t think it’s that simple.
“Whatever else he may be, he’s dealt with his fair share of storms. just don’t buy that he’d break down this easily.”
Aurora nodded in agreement.
She knew Julian well enough to feel surprised that he could be taken down so easily.
