Chapter 835
The most urgent thing now was to get out of here.
He couldn’t afford to waste another second in this place.
If he didn’t act fast, he’d end up stuck here for good.
For some reason, Julian had a strong feeling about that.
So, he began to soften his tone, even putting on a hint of flattery.
“Dad, I really know I was wrong this time.
“This whole thing was an accident–someone’s clearly trying to take us down. We can’t fall into their trap.”
He spoke each word with sincerity, his voice steady and deliberate
But unfortunately, Albert wasn’t in the mood to listen to anything at that point.
He glanced at the towering piles of documents on his desk and felt like his head was about to explode.
His son was useless and utterly worthless.
Not only had Julian failed to be of any help, but he’d also dragged out the engagement with the Walton family far too long.
And now he was stirring up more trouble and ending up in jail, ruining the company’s reputation in the process.
Luckily, this had happened overseas.
As long as they kept it quiet, no one back home would find out.
Albert lost all patience in an instant. “Handle it yourself. I’ve got a mountain of work here.”
In his mind, he had already begun to give up on this son.
If this ‘main account‘ was ruined, he’d simply start over with an ‘alt account.‘
The thought brought a glint of coldness to Albert’s eyes.
He suddenly remembered that Julian wasn’t his only son.
Why should he keep pouring all his energy into someone like him?
With that, Albert hung up without a second thought, not even giving Julian a chance to speak.
“Hello? Dad?”
Hearing the dial tone beep in his ear, Julian cried out in panic.
He called out “Dad” several times, but only silence answered him.
When there was truly nothing left on the other end, Julian collapsed to the ground, completely crushed.
It had all happened too fast for him to even process.
Inside the holding room, the officer heard the commotion and finally stood up, leisurely making his way outside.
As soon as he stepped out, he saw Julian slumped on the floor and couldn’t help recalling how much trouble he’d caused earlier.
Now, it was payback time.
“Well, well, isn’t this the heir of the Hayes family in Ravenshore?
The officer’s tone dripped with mockery. “What’s wrong, Mr. Hayes? Why are you sitting on the floor like that after making a

call?
“The floor’s cold, you know. Wouldn’t want someone as precious as you catching a chill.”
The moment Julian heard the sneer in his voice, the despair in his eyes flared into rage.
He sprang to his feet, stormed up to the officer, eyes bloodshot as He growled, “Was it you? What the hell is going on in this precinct? Did you people say something to my family?”
Gone was the usual grace and arrogance.
Right now, Julian looked utterly unhinged, eyes bulging in fury as he glared daggers at the man.
He was like a cornered animal, and that phone call had been the final blow.
With that thought, the weight of hopelessness hit even harder.
What was the point of going on? *
Suddenly, he lunged forward, hands straining toward the officer’s neck.
But the man, trained and experienced, was ready.
Julian was still cuffed–how could he possibly land a hit?
The officer, whose name was Hector, swiftly caught his arm and slammed him back against the wall, pinning him there.
