Chapter 822
Grace truly appreciated Arnold’s thoughtfulness, but she still spoke up a little sheepishly. “I think… I completely forgot that Megan also went to Millford.
“We could try calling her. She should know something about Aurora’s situation.”
Arnold let out a quiet breath of relief and immediately felt that Grace made a good point.
“Madam, then you should call her right away.”
This worked out perfectly–if they could reach her, it would kill two birds with one stone.
And maybe Grace wouldn’t insist on flying to Millford after all.
Plus, they could get an update on Aurora as soon as possible.
All things considered, it seemed like the smartest choice.
He had been worried about Grace’s health holding up.
Now that she mentioned this, he realized he’d overlooked something.
He should’ve thought of it sooner.
Grace nodded and quickly pulled out her phone to call Megan.
It had been a while since she left, and aside from one call at the beginning, there hadn’t been any news from her.
That didn’t seem like Megan at all.
It wasn’t in her nature to go silent like that.
If it were the same as before, she would’ve called long ago.
Now, so late into the trip, Grace couldn’t help but wonder if something had happened.
Otherwise, knowing her personality, she would’ve definitely been in touch already.
But now, even Grace wasn’t entirely sure.
Arnold urged her, “Madam, please call her now. Let’s see what’s going on.
“It’s been long enough. We really don’t know what’s happening over there.”
It wasn’t just Grace’s current condition that worried him–Arnold was now genuinely concerned about Aurora too.
After all, he’d watched her grow up. She had long been like family.
Because Grace was anxious, she didn’t take offense at Arnold’s abruptness.
She knew well that Arnold had always treated Aurora better than he treated Tessa.
With a slight movement of her fingers, Grace dialed Megan’s number.
When she heard the line ringing, knowing it was actually going through, her heart jumped to her throat.
Far away in Millford, Megan was sitting by Aurora’s bedside, chatting with her.
When she heard the phone ring, Megan froze.
Who would be calling her at this hour?
The next second, she picked up her phone, and the moment she saw the screen, her whole body stiffened.

Chapter 822
“What’s wrong?”
Aurora noticed the change in Megan’s expression and asked with concern.
Megan stammered, “Aurora, I think I’m done for. I’ve been here s long and totally forgot to call your mom.‘
Hearing that, Aurora immediately knew the call was from Grace.
Forget it. Sooner or later, she’d have to face it–why keep putting off?
Running away wasn’t in her nature anyway.
“Give me the phone.”
Aurora spoke calmly, as if she were completely ready.
The moment Megan heard that, she handed the phone over without hesitation.
Her eyes were full of emotion, and her heart felt a little relieved.
Thank goodness, she didn’t have to face Grace’s questioning alone anymore.
Otherwise, she truly wouldn’t know what to do..
Lucas thought of the call he’d hung up on earlier and took out his phone to check–it had powered off.
No wonder his lovely mother–in–law hadn’t called him.
With her usual temperament, she definitely would have.
