Chapter 755
No matter what, at least she wasn’t the only one talking to herself anymore.
The person on the other side seemed to pause, staying silent for a long while. The younger Aurora started to feel confused.
Why did he suddenly go quiet? Did something fall on him?
Or maybe he passed out from hunger?
That didn’t make sense–she hadn’t heard any noise.
But the continued silence made Aurora grow anxious.
“What’s wrong? Why aren’t you saying anything? Are you okay over there?”
Sensing the urgency in her voice, the person finally replied, “I’m fine.”
“The other three… well, we got separated.”
“I see…”
Aurora’s tone carried a hint of pity and regret.
But soon, she realized she was actually quite lucky.
She had fallen from such a height and yet wasn’t hurt.
Most of the debris had landed over the opening of the space she was in.
In a way, it had even created a shelter for her.
Still… this place was far too dark, and the younger Aurora couldn’t help but feel afraid.
At least now she had someone to talk to, and that fear slowly faded.
“What’s your name?”
The younger Aurora couldn’t stop herself from asking.
If she didn’t talk to the person on the other side, it really felt like she was the only one left in the world.
“I’ll tell you after we both make it out alive.”
The person paused, then gave that reply.
“Alright then.”
In that space, as if to give herself a bit of courage, the younger Aurora took the initiative to tell him her name.
“I’m Aurora Walton, a sophomore at this school.”
This time, the reply came quickly. “I know.”
“You know what?”
Now it was Aurora who didn’t quite understand what he meant.
His words didn’t seem to line up, and his responses felt oddly delayed.

But later, when Aurora admitted she was scared and worried about whether she’d make it out alive, his response caught her off guard.
“Don’t be afraid. At least we’re not alone–we’re here with each other.”
He paused, then carefully pushed a piece of chocolate through the crack in the debris.
“Here. Eat it. It’ll help keep you going.”
Aurora froze.
She stared at the chocolate peeking through the gap, feeling warmth rise in her chest.
They hadn’t even seen each other’s faces, and yet he was willing to share his chocolate with her?
In a place like this, when no one knew when or if they’d be rescued, even a single sip of water was precious–how could anyone so easily share what little they had?
In such a cramped and dangerous space, anything could be considered a treasure.
Aurora was hungry, but she could still hold out.
She asked first, “You’re giving me your chocolate. Do you still have more for yourself?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. I still have some.”
The boy reached into his nearly empty pocket, lips pressed into a thin line, not saying much more.
He silently regretted not bringing more with him.
He didn’t even know if that one piece would be enough to satisfy Aurora.
Hearing his reply, Aurora felt reassured.
“Alright. But you have to be careful too. Watch the debris above you–if anything starts falling, remember to dodge.”
