Lucas raised an eyebrow.
It was too much of a coincidence to run into the attending physician right after stepping out.
If there was nothing shady going on, he certainly wouldn’t believe it.
Kenneth and Wendy exchanged glances.

Without needing to say a word, they could figure it out.
Everything pointed back to Tessa.

Jackson looked at the doctors guarding the door, feeling somewhat embarrassed.
“Miss Walton, you see, I really have no other choice. I came to check on the patient, and you’re stopping me from entering. What does this mean?”
Tessa also felt awkward and apologized on Lucas‘ behalf. “I’m so sorry. My brother–in–law is just really
anxious.
“He’s just overly concerned about my sister’s health, that’s why he’s acting this way.
“Don’t worry, I’ll let you in now,” she said, adopting a commanding tone as she looked at the two doctors.
“What are you waiting for? Hurry up and let Dr. Watson in.”
The doctors, standing at the door, were confused and didn’t know how to proceed.
They scratched their heads and finally glanced inside the room.
They were just following orders, not making decisions on their own.
It was all about getting things done with money.
Now that so many people had entered, they felt they were not doing their job properly.
“Come in,” Lucas‘ voice rang out.
Only then did Tessa feel a wave of relief.
She had been worried about Lucas refusing.
After all, she had said so much already.

Lucas snorted coldly, saying nothing.
