Chapter 403
After leaving the Hunt estate, Judy hesitated for just a moment before halling a cab and telling the driver to take her to the best hotel in town.
Standing in front of the grand entrance, she didn’t think twice as she walked up to the front desk and booked the presidential suite for ten days straight
It wasn’t her money anyway.
Joseph was footing the bill, and she didn’t feel the slightest bit guilly.
By the time she was done enjoying her stay, he’d probably come crawling.
She knew exactly how much time to give him.
“Aurora Walton, don’t think I’ll let either of you off the hook,” she muttered, her gaze turning sharp and venormous.
If Joseph didn’t have the guts to make a move, that didn’t mean she’d sit back and let things slide.
She had her own ways–plenty of them, and money.
Joseph was practically on her side anyway.
Honestly, she couldn’t understand what Aurora was thinking.
Sure, Joseph had been sweet to her at first, but now it was obvious that it was nothing but a passing thrill.
“Typical. Men are always slaves to novelty,” she scoffed.
It was laughable. But when it came to Joseph now, she had him wrapped around her finger.
She used to think he was untouchable, sitting high and mighty.
It turned out, he was just another clueless rich boy.
All it took was a little praise and affection, and he’d light up like a Christmas tree.
Judy entered the suite and slipped into a luxurious bath, letting the hot water melt away every ounce of stress.
Her phone kept ringing, vibrating constantly, but she didn’t even glance at it.
She didn’t silence and answer it.
She knew men like him well.
The colder she was, the more desperate he got.
If she were to coddle him too much, he’d forget his place.
Meanwhile, Joseph stared at his phone, still stuck on the call screen.
The fury in his eyes was barely contained.
What the hell was Judy doing?
Why wasn’t she picking up?
Joseph was just about to grumble, but then a thought hit him–Judy wasn’t the type to play games. What if something had happened to her?
The moment that crossed his mind, his chest tightened.
He shot to his feet, ready to rush out and look for her.

Chapter 403
“Where do you think you’re going?”
His father’s voice rang out from the second floor, halting him in his tracks.
Joseph froze.
Just his luck–right as he was about to leave, his father appeared.
Had he been watching him this whole time?
Melvin stared down at him, already knowing what was running through his son’s head.
“Hmph, don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to.”
He scoffed coldly. “I had surveillance installed in the living room and your bedroom. From now on, every move you make is under my watch.”
“Father, this is outrageous!” Joseph’s eyes widened in shock.
He had suspected the living room, but his own bedroom? That was downright twisted.
Melvin, unfazed by Joseph’s outburst, dismissed it like the tantrum of a child.
“If I went that far, you can be sure I had good reason. You don’t need to concern yourself with it.”
He tapped the railing firmly with his cane, voice icy.
“Now, answer me. You stood up just now–where were you planning to go?”
“I… I wasn’t going anywhere…” Joseph quickly lied.
He knew this wasn’t the time to bring up Judy.
If his father found out he was rekindling things with her, it’d only stir more trouble.
No need to make himself into a tragic lover under his father’s thumb.
With that thought, Joseph’s gaze turned resolute.
