Aurora arrived at the office that afternoon
Everyone turned to look at her with admiration.
They were all secretly amazed—who would’ve thought she’d actually pull this off?
When Grace called her in earlier, most of them had assumed the project was already beyond saving, especially since this project Involved David, who had a reputation for being notoriously difficul to deal with.
But now, not only had the materials been reinstated, the contract had even been drafted from their side.
Thinking of all this, their gazes toward Aurora grew even more reverent.
She had become the role model they all aspired to be.
“Aurora, how did you manage to pull this off?”
Lucy came bouncing over, eyes gleaming with admiration and joy, unlike the others, whose eyes still held emy.
Aurora noticed it immediately.
She reached out to ruffle Lucy’s hair, raising her volce just a touch as she said,
“Just luck, that’s all. The most important thing is staying grounded and working hard. Don’t look for shortcuts.”
With that, Aurora turned and headed back to her office.
Of course, she knew exactly what those people were thinking.
But the truth was, luck had played a role today.
So, she wasn’t about to take full credit for it
Later, her assistant knocked on the door and came in to report what had happened that afternoon.
“They delivered more materials than expected?”
Aurora was a little surprised.
David’s efficiency was higher than she thought.
The assistant nodded. “Yes, but we’re still paying the same price. I checked with their project manager, and they said it’s a gift”
Aurora couldn’t help but feel shocked.
In this day and age, when every vendor seemed out for profit, who would actually give something away for free?
Aurora still had her doubts.
“Are you sure we didn’t
1 pay extra?”
“No, we didn’t. Finance went over the numbers thoroughly before brought them to you,” the assistant assured her.
Only after hearing that did Aurora feel at ease. She picked up the phone and dialed David.
He answered almost instantly.
“Hello, Mr. Warren”
His tone was surprisingly respectful.
“Miss Walton, is something the matter?”

“Is something missing?”
“No, no,” Aurora couldn’t help chuckling at the cautious tone in h vole
“I mean, did you send more than what we agreed on? The amount forsn’t quite match up.‘
David finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Wh, that’s what you meant. I thought…
“No, nothing’s missing. I included those extra supplies on purpose Consider them a gift, Miss Walton. A gesture of goodwill now that we’re back on the same page.”
Aurora raised an eyebrow
That really didn’t sound like something David would do.
Everyone had heard stories about his usual approach to business.
She replied politely, “That’s very generous of you, Mr. Warren. You really didn’t have to.”
“It’s nothing. Please, just accept it. I’ll feel better knowing you did
Aurora frowned slightly.
“Feel better about what?”
David suddenly got flustered.
“No, no, I just meant… I misunderstood you before. Now that we’ve cleared things up, this is just my way of making it up to you”
Something about it still felt off, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
“Alright then. I’m finalizing the contract now. I’ll have someone send it over shortly.”
