Aurora arched a brow, then reached out and shook his hand.
It was brief, just a touch, but enough to signify that the partnership was back on track.
A faint smile spread across her refined features.

David smiled. “You’ve always been efficient. Take your time.”
“Oh, and by the way, feel free to proceed with the supply on your side. I’ll resume the supply later this aftemoon.”
Aurora blinked. That fast?

As she walked out, there was still a dazed feeling lingering in her chest.
Was it really resolved just like that?
After all the days of stress, now that it was finally over, she could barely process it.
For a moment, it all felt unreal.
Watching her leave, David let out a long breath.
Thank God, it was finally over.
He was only worried about accidentally slipping up in front of Aurora and exposing Vanguard–that would be a disaster.
Later, Desmond called David. “So? Did Mrs. I mean, Miss Walton get suspicious? You didn’t let anything slip, did you?”
He’d nearly said Mrs. Carter, but caught himself just in time.
A glance at Lucas beside him had his breath catch in his throat.

The boss was still as terrifying, as ever.
Just a single glance, and Desmond almost collapsed.
Thankfully, David hadn’t caught the slip
“Don’t worry, not a chance. It’s all taken care of. I’ll resume supplying materials this afternoon” Desmond finally relaxed “Good. From here on, just follow the normal procedures.”
