Chapter 93
Warrick’s POV
Evan stayed in her room the rest of the night. It’s hard for me to feel anything but excitement at what she let me do to her last night in the shower. I can’t give her a chance to regret what we did. The thought of her taste and those sweet moans get my c*ck hard all over again. I’ve lost count of how many times I have had to readjust or take care of it since last night and I’ve only been up for two hours.
I make my way to the new dining room, hoping that Evan will be down for breakfast, and grin when I see her walk in right after I take a seat. She is wearing black combat pants and a white t–shirt. Her eyes immediately find mine and I smile. She doesn’t return it, just looks away and heads toward the food and makes a plate.
“Don’t let her push us away!” Viggo yells at me and I flinch.
“I wasn’t planning on it. Calm down.” I reprimand him and he huffs. I watch as she makes her way to the table, smiling and saying good morning to all of the people in the room. I swear since she walked in the room it seems lighter, brighter even.
I stand up and hold out her chair. Her smile falters at me, but then slips back on. I take note of the mask she places on and try to read into her eyes, but she avoids eye contact.
“Good morning, beautiful.” I say and she nods to me then awkwardly takes a seat, as I push in her chair. “You didn’t have to do that.” She says as I sit back down and I see the unease in her eyes.
“If I am trying to win you over, I did.” I answer and she shakes her head at me. She begins eating and I follow
suit.
“Alpha Evan!” I hear a little yell and look over to see a blonde kid around 3 years old barreling towards Evan. Her smile brightens and I know instantly that it is her real smile.
“Aster?” Evan asks and picks the kid up. Pinching his cheeks. “You’re so big. How old are you now?” She
asks.
I notice that he also has neon green highlights and it strikes me as odd. What kind of parent would put highlights in their kid’s hair?
“Fwee siwy.” He says and giggles when she tickles him.
“Three?” She gasps. “NO WAY.” She says and he laughs and nods his head.
“Aster!” I hear yelled and his eyes go big and hangs onto Evan’s neck tight. A younger woman came walking up to us, also with blonde hair and green highlights.
“Sorry about that Alpha. He wanted to tell you something and ran before I could get a hold of him.” The woman apologizes and Evan swats her hand.
“No need to worry Violet.” Evan says then looks at Aster. “What did you want to tell me?” She asks a a cheeky grin on his face and he leans in and “whispers” in her ear.
“I can fewl my dwagon.” He says and pulls back, bouncing up and down in his excitement. I smile. That explains the colored hair.

“WHAT? Congratulations Aster! That means you will be very powerful.” Evan says excitedly and the kid beams

up at her.
“Come on Aster, let’s get your powerful butt some pancakes.” Violet says, reaching her hand out and Aster grabs it jumping all over the place. He waves Evan goodbye as his mother takes him to their table to eat “Feels his dragon?” I ask her when she turns back around to face the table. She nods and makes true eye contact with me for the first time since yesterday.
“Yes. Dragon shifter’s can feel their counterpart as early as 2. They don’t normally start talking to each other till around 10, and then they shift at 16. This is to try and ensure that they have a good relationship, since dragons are such powerful beings.” She explains.
“That makes sense. It must be exciting.” I say and she nods.
“It is a beautiful thing to see as well.” She supplies, then turns her attention back to her food.
“Are there any other shifter’s like that?” I ask and she shakes her head.
“Not like that, but the sirens are born shifted. They have to wait until they are 16 to grow their human legs
and be able to come to land.” She says and my eyes widen.
“Siren’s… aren’t real.” I say carefully and she laughs and pats my arm like I am a child.
“Yes they are. They just don’t deal with species outside of theirs. Very territorial and aggressive creatures.” She says and I just nod at this new information. I wonder what other information she is holding in her
beautiful head.
“You’re amazing.” I say to her and the fork that was on her way to her mouth pauses and she shakes her head
at me.
“Learn to take a compliment for once, goodness.” Marie says exasperated as she walks up with Tali to the table. The other following in tow. Well, there goes our alone–ish time.
Before everybody sits I give my attention back to Evan.
“I came to get you last night because I wanted to go over the different strategies we have come up with. Would you like to go over them after breakfast?” I ask and she nods and takes a sip of juice. I see a blush creeping up her neck and smile to myself.
I wasn’t sure how it would go last night, but when I walked to her room and knocked on the door, the last thing I expected to smell was her arousal seeping through. Viggo lost it and just burst in.
“Why didn’t you show her last night?” Tali asks as she takes her seat.
“She was otherwise occupied.” I answer, my c*ck hardening at the thought of why she was occupied. I look over to see Evan’s face is as red as a tomato.
“Oh.” Marie says and stares at Evan, taking note of her red face and Marie’s eyes widened.
“OH!” Marie says again and looks at me, then back to Evan. “You two..” She begins, but is interrupted by a chair being pulled out from the side of Evan.
“What did he do this time?” Linc/asks as he plops down in the seat, Nali sitting next to him, eyeing the situation.
“Nothing!” Evan says too quickly and stands up. “I’m ready to go over strategy.” She says as she grabs her plate and walks away. Everybody looks towards me and I shrug my shoulder.

“Duty calls.” I answer as I stand up and gather my plate, following Evan out and to the conference room. When I enter the room she is standing there staring at the boards, and my heart begins to beat faster.
Oh goddess, this woman is something else. Her intent stare is turned towards me.
“You came up with these?” She asks and I nod as I walk further into the room, shutting the door behind me. “Me and the generals, as well as some of your elders.” I answer and her eyes widen in surprise at the last
statement.
“My elders?” She asks doubtfully, and I nod.
“Yeah. I didn’t want to plan for just wolves fighting when we have other species. I hate to admit it, but I don’t know too much about other species. No
enough to try to make a plan, so I figured that I’d invite them to plan, who better to help plan for extra gifts than the ones who have the gifts themselves.” I explain and she
smiles slightly at me, her gray eyes taking on a mischievous sparkle.
“These are really good plans. I have been thinkin
about it, and after the last fight I think I may need to lay all of my cards on the table for us to really win.” She says and a slight panic zings in my chest over what she
might say.
