Chapter 84
Evangelina’s POV
I wake from a deep slumber. I don’t remember the last time I have slept so hard. I look at the clock on my night stand and my eyes bug out. It’s so late. That potion must have hit me harder than I thought it did. It’s almost 10 am. Why the hell did nobody wake me?
I leap from the bed and run to brush my teeth and put up my hair. I change into my black pants and white
t–shirt for training and open the door to find a smiling Iris.
“Oh good! You’re awake. I wanted to speak with you about the flowers for my son and Jaxon.” She says as she walks into my room.
“What are you” I begin but she interrupts me.
“As you probably know by now, that awful wrench poisoned my son and Jaxon. She also put the flowers and
sigils under their night stands. We need one of your witches to ensure that the spell is fully broken. We don’t
know much about it, so the flowers are still in place.” She explains, while looking around my room.
“Uh.” I say, because I can’t seem to comprehend what she is saying. She looks at me expectantly, then
pauses, seeing the look of confusion on my face.
“They didn’t tell you.” She states. It’s not a question, it’s a statement. Obviously they didn’t tell me given the
dumbfounded look on my face.
“No. She was sleeping and we didn’t get a chance.” Jaxon says from behind me, and I whip my head around
to find him leaning against my door frame with a look of exasperation.
“Oh. Whoops.” Iris says with a shrug of her shoulder.
“Okay. Um, take Regina. She is our herbs and potions specialist.” I say and she nods as she stares at me.
“Thank you dear. And as soon as that is gone we can focus on why you didn’t tell me my son is your mate.”
She says with a pointed look. I shift uncomfortably while staring at her.
“I guess I will go find Regin..” Jax starts but is interrupted by a squeal.
“MOM!” I hear then see Jax stumble forward as a short Nali pushes through him to get to her mother. She
looks around confused, but a smile soon spreads across her face.
“What is it darling?” Iris asks rushing to Nali.
“Mom. I’m pregnant. You’re going to be a grandma!” She squeals and I gape at her words as I look towards
my door and see Linc joining Jax in the doorway now. Since when did my room become a party spot?
I shrug off the negative thought and smile as I make my way to my brother. I grab him in a bear hug and squeeze hard. I can feel his uneasiness melt.
“Congratulations Linc. You’ll be an amazing father.” I say and he squeezes me harder.
“Thank you Evan.” He whispers and after a few more seconds he pulls back. I don’t see anything else as my
vision goes out.
I am plunged into a field of blood, four of our warriors dead as a small army heads to infiltrate the royal pack

ground. I am plunged back into the present. Line stares at me and waits. He is used to me blanking out.
Who is on patrol in the east near the field?” I ask and the room goes quiet.
Cassie, Ryan, Jacob, and Vera.” He answers instantly. I pale at the realization. They are the ones dead in my vision and we switch groups out so that they don’t get too comfortable.
1mindlink the two I am connected to in the group. “Get everyone back closer to the grounds. We are under attack. I rush out and hear the ‘Heard‘. I turned my link to my whole pack now. “Code red. I repeat code red “I say I look at Nali who is wide eyed and frozen.
“Get to a safe room. We’re under attack.” I say to her and Iris as I start to rush down the stairs. “Jaxon.” I start.
“He isn’t answering his damn link. I need to go find him.” Jaxon says before I could get anything else out.
“Link your pack then and go.” I say as I grab a vest and long sword from the front rack and rush out the door. Linc followed shortly behind me with his vest on. We all know the drill. Grab the closest protection gear to you and head for battle. The grounds have been combed through for the best vantage points and unfortunately it is too close for my comfort to the actual pack. The layout is pack in the center, open fields, then dense forest. Inside the forest there are some patches of fields, but other than that the forest is a sanctuary for the well trained operative in scouting and reconnaissance.
We have made the battle plan so that we surround the pack as best we can. The dragons fly overhead to determine where the enemy is currently located and report back and we try to adjust, but with transporters it almost makes things hard to predict, even if we do see the enemy.
1 make it to the east field where my vision showed they were coming and see my three dragon shifters flying
overhead, one gold, one red, and one black.
“Alpha army of at least 100 making their way in the east. 50 feet out of the pack barrier.” I receive from
Daunting, the golden dragon. As soon as he finishes the report I see a bright streak of lightning strike down
at the black dragon shifter. Making her fall 50 feet and start flying again. Only now all three dive down
towards the forest floor and start blowing fire down onto what I am assuming is the enemy.
“Get back here now!” I shout through the link and they immediately stop their rain of fire and fly back landing behind our group. The black dragon is huffing hard, I am guessing from the pain of being electrocuted.
“Rach lay low, until the shock has healed. I don’t need you to be distracted and get shocked again. You and I both know that anything more than one shock before you are healed can be deadly.” Indlink to the black dragon who grumbles behind me.
“Border is breached, Alpha.” One of the head warriors of the Royal pack says and I nod my head.
“Hold your ground and as soon as we see them, we attack.” I order and he bows his head and turns away. I look around me to see Linc, Marie and Henry in their respective groups. We each have ours to lead into battle. My heart hurts for Linc. What should have been a celebration has turned into a day that will end in mourning. I’m not so naive to think that we won’t lose anybody and neither is he.
I turn my focus back to the forest line and try to calm my frazzled nerves, before I could do so successfully, groups of enemies start being transported in, scattered around the field. Immediately we attack. There are vines trying to hold the intruders in place as some are throwing bolts of electricity. Rain comes from seemingly nowhere, creating a wall of water that we can hardly see through.

They must have some powerful gifters or even elemental fae. The rain continues, but lessons up and I see at least 50 people how that have been transported in
I don’t waste another second. Running into the rain and pulling a sword from my back. Slicing a head clean. off and moving to stab another person’s chest.
The thing about the rain is it is making it nearly impossible for others to use gifts. Electricity is a no go unless you want to electrocute yourself, light will blind everybody too because of the water’s reflection, most people’s fire is dowsed, vines can’t properly trap an enemy because of the mud. It is making this a combat fight. There are witches on both sides throwing spells, fae creating earthquakes, werewolves fighting
werewolves.
1 am covered in blood and mud, not even knowing how many people I have killed. Only that it has been quite a few in the short time that the battle has started.
Soon, I’m surrounded by 5 people and adjust my grip on my sword. The rain suddenly stops, telling me that whoever was creating it is incapacitated in some way.
Just as I move to strike one of the men surrounding me they are blown away and I am surrounded by a shield. “Sh*t.” I growl under my breath.
I hear a tsk and turn around to see Frankf*ck standing in front of me with a smile.
“Language, my love.” He says. My lips curl in disgust and he chuckles. “Oh how I have missed you.” He says and I snarl. I hear banging on the shield and look to my left to see that Linc is trying to get through it. It seems like the people around us are frozen. They all just stopped fighting and are watching the bubble like it’s a f*cking tv show.
“Let’s talk, my queen.” Franklin says, bringing my attention back to him.
