Chapter 79
Evangelina’s POV (Memories)
It has been 5 days that I have been in this hell. I have been fighting tooth and nail everyday to get out of this cell. The slimy guy that seems to be in charge, I have learned, is called Franklin. He has been pumping me full of wolvesbayne and liquid silver. Not to mention I am cuffed and chained to the wall. On occasion when he
comes to visit me he brings me food. He is the only one to visit me. Says that he is trying to break me.
“Hello, my love.” I hear next to the cell doors. I snarl at the disgusting man, but all he does is chuckle.
“Still feisty, I see. Today will be a good day. Well it will definitely be a good day for me, but you can enjoy it too.” He says and he enters the cell. I move to kick him, but he catches my foot and tuts at me.
“Nuh–uh–uh. I don’t think so.” He says as he secures a cuff around my ankle. Apparently I don’t learn my lesson, because I go to kick him with my other foot and the same thing happens. He chains the cuffs to the end of the bed, making me bend over the bed at an awkward angle.
I was never given any clothes, so when I feel a smack on my a*s the half shifted claws scratch me.
“Oh I couldn’t wait for this. You will submit one way or another. It will be easier for you if you just enjoy it.” He snarls at me as I hear him lift up the black robe he was wearing. I begin bucking and struggling against the chains. Nothing helps and he begins to violently r*pe me. I don’t know how long it was till I felt a heart wrenching pain in my chest. I scream in agony, knowing what the pain means.
“What did you do to her?” I sob into the bed. He thrust into me one last time, grunting his finish and leans into
my ear.
“Dead darling.” He whispers into my ear, I begin screaming, fighting the chains holding me.
“NO!” I scream as he leaves.
The next two days, I gave up my fight. My daughter died, the only reason I was still fighting. To get her and
me out.
“It’s moving day my queen.” Franklin says, humming as he unlocks the door. “I knew I would break you, and it has been such a lovely time.” He says, leading me up some stairs and down a few hallways, to a nice room with a plush bed. He cuffs me to the headboard and leaves.

Two more days of Franklin coming to do his nightly get off. I just lay there as stay still. Too tired to do anything else. I wish he would just kill me, but I have been told that he took me because he saw I was to be a queen, and he insists he will be king, so that means that I am meant for him. He is insane, I don’t need his crazy words to tell me that.
He has been messing with my mind as well, although he is off his rocker he is a very powerful seer, who has been given his “gift” of magic by dark witches.
I don’t know when, but at some point I fell asleep.
I wake up in a fog, kind of like a cloud.
“Hello my sweet child.” I hear a sweet, motherly voice come from around me.
“Where am I? Who are you?” I ask into the fog.

explains.
“How could I save anybody? I couldn’t even save Ziana.” I ask in a sob. I feel a warm touch on my cheek, causing me to look up. I still don’t see anything other than fog, but feel a sense of comfort.
“Ziana is not dead. You were pregnant and lost the child, breaking the connection that was forming in your soul. You will need to leave her here though. She will be instrumental in the future.” She says.
“No, I can’t leave her.” I argue.
“You must.” She says sternly. “I understand that you are concerned, she is your daughter of course, but you
need to leave her here.”
“But.” I begin.
“No buts. Starting tomorrow morning, you will receive your gifts and you will break free. Leaving Ziana. After I give you your gifts, you will follow my requests. If you do not I will need to strip you of the gifts to give them to another person. If that happens, it will kill you. Rest assured I love you as I love all my children, but in order to win the war I need a strong person to hold the gifts and do my work. I am choosing you.” She says and I
feel the dread settle on me.
“I don’t understand. Why me?” I ask.
“Because fate and I have deemed you the best person. You are good and care for others. Always fair and reserve judgment until you have the facts. You are the one we have been looking for.” She answers. “There isn’t much time. I must leave you, my child. Good luck and I will be with you.” She says.
“Wait..” I call out, but it’s too late. I wake to see the candle light flicker in the room I am chained in.
