Chapter53
Killian’s POV
It’s been 3 days and we aren’t any closer to finding her. Queen Evan and King Warrick came the night she disappeared. We have spoken to all of the missing girl’s familles. All of which were being threatened in some way. From the sounds of it Reginald has been taking women from different pack members from people who he thinks can manipulate and might need something from.
“I have Something.” Addie says, bursting into the small conference room we have been using to gather all the
evidence and clues to find Ziana. Zane and his father are speaking over a map, while my father and I are
looking over the files of missing girls again, Warrick and Evan are on the phone with other pack’s trying to get
any additional information.
We all turn to look at her sleep deprived form as she slaps a bunch of papers on the table. I move to look at
what she laid down and it’s the letters she told us about. I look at her in question, then growl when she takes
her sweet time telling us what is going on.
“Okay so I was thinking, maybe somebody could go through my memories and use those along with the letters to conjure Reginal’s location. My memory and the intent on the letters may work to find his location. Then maybe one of her mates, to help follow the location of Ziana. We may be able to follow the mate bond. We haven’t slept, but we figured out how to do it. We think.” Addie says while Nali walks in, the same tired look on her face. She is followed by 2 witches. One holds candles and chalk, while the other holds a large, old
book.
“Let me get this clear: you want to perform a ritual, you just made up. One where Nali can get trapped in Addie’s head, and you all could get trapped in the plane of travel if you don’t travel at the same time, or correctly.” Evan says, folding her arms and eyeing them carefully.
“Well, yes. And no. Killian would be the ideal mate, because Emily could perform the spell, while he transports to where she finds. That is one of the spells. The other one would be the more dangerous one because Nali could get trapped in my mind, and I could trap us in travel. Yes. That one is the more time sensitive one.”
Addies explains.
“Why can’t you do the less riskier one first?” Warrick asks, studying her and his sister.
“We could, but if she is in a large area, following both of them would give us the best chance at the location. Also, the less riskier one is on a time limit, so the spell will give out and they will appear back here. And technically the spell is only supposed to astroproject them. I am hoping that Killian’s transportation will allow them to physically be there, not just be an apparition.” Addie answers and he nods, looking at Evan.
“As long as everyone knows the risk and agrees.” Evan says and looks at me.
“I’ll do whatever needs to be done to find my mate.” I say, standing up.
10 minutes later the circles are drawn, candles are lit and Nali is going through Addie’s head in the middle of one circle, while I am standing in the middle of the other one with the witch Emily.
“This is a location spell mixed with a VERY old mate finder spell that used to be used to find one’s other half. It may have been transposed incorrectly, but I have had our witch elder go over it as well. I need to be touching you in some way and I need you to pull on your mate bond, like you are trying to find her. You also

need to think about her, the way she looks, her scent, her touch. Everything. Once I think I have her location I will flex my hand to let you know it’s time to transport.” She explains and I nod in understanding. She grabs my bicep and begins chanting.
I think of Ziana. Of the first time I saw her, her dark hair, bright purple eyes, her fighting skills, the way her touch sent sparks through me, her cranberry and orange scent. I focus on all of these things and after what seems like forever I feel Emily’s hand squeeze my arm and I open my mind to hers, transporting us to the location in her mind.
The first thing that I notice is the pungent smell of the place. Then I open my eyes and as they adjust to the darkness surrounding me, I look around. I am in a tunnel system, with Emily by my side. There is barely any lighting, but with my wolf abilities I adjust to the darkness.
“Since we are physically here, I am hoping that if there are guards I can perform a spell to erase their memories. I’m only able to erase little bits and I will need to conserve energy. That spell took a lot of my power.” Emily whispers so quietly, I can barely hear her. I nod and tune into my mate’s bond, following the halls until it grows cold and turns around.
I can’t focus on her smell, because everything else is covering it up. Finally we reach a dead end hall with a guard standing at the end. They look to be guarding a door to their left, the only door in the hall. I look at Emily and she nods, then mumbles something under her breath.
The next second, the guard drops to the floor and I eye her.
“I put him to sleep. We only have a minute or so.” She explains. I nod, then quickly make my way to the solid door where my mate bond is strongest. I try to enter, but it is locked.
“Here.” Emily whispers and clips the keys off the guard and hands them to me. I take them and unlock the
door then rush in.
My breath knocks out of me and I stop in my tracks as I take in the view.
Ziana is chained to the ceiling, dangling naked. She is bloody and bruised, while her arm looks broken in one
section.
My heart breaks as I run towards her. Her breathing is shallow and I try my best not to cry or rage out and tear this place apart.
“Ziana. Baby. I’m here.” I say as I reach for the chains on her wrists. She jolts and pulls back as much as she
can. Her purple eyes flashing open. When they land on me she relaxes slightly.
“Killian?” She asks and I nod, reaching for her chains again.
“We don’t have much time.” Emily says from behind me and I nod, yanking the chains and hissing as the
silver burns my hands.
“I’m getting you out of here, darling I say, trying to yank on the chains again, ignoring the sizzling of my
flesh. They won’t budge. Ziana starts shaking her head in protest.
“No. Killian.” She argues, but it seems that it is hard for her to speak because its raspy and quiet.
“Sh.. Stop.” I say, kissing her forehead and then glancing around the room for anything to use to get her
down.
“No. Killian, If you. Take me. Back. They. Will move. Camps. Leave. Me. And come back. Need to. Save the

others.” Ziana rasps. Her breathing is harsh as I shake my head.
“Alpha. We are running out of time.” Emily hisses from the entrance. I shake my head.
“Ziana. I’m not leaving here without you. You need help. You’re barely breathing.” I say and she shakes her
head.
“Then come back.. Soon. Please. Killian. It’s. The
only. Way.” She pleads and I feel a tear escape my eye.
I
I returned to her, studying her state. If I can’t take her with me I will help her in some way.
I nod and grab her arm. I twist so that it can set properly and she whimpers quietly, breaking my heart all
over again.
I place my hand over her cheeks and push the mate bond towards her, kissing her softly on her chapped lips.
I hear her heartbeat pick up, and the rasp in her breathing leave, then pull back.
“I’ll be back soon. You are strong, darling. Stay that way. I love you.” I say, causing her to whimper.
“I love you too, Killian.” She whispers and I turn, grabbing Emily and feeling a weird prickle of my skin as the spell drags me back to the pack house.
