Ziana’s POV
I don’t know how long it takes, but the darkness recedes and I come back to Addie putting a sweatshirt on
- me.
“I cleaned you up.” She says and I look down to see that I have sweatpants and a baggy shirt on. My hair is wet and I put it up in a messy bun.
“Thanks.” I say. She eyes me warily.
“Please tell me he is alive.” I say and she smiles sadly.
“He is, but the mistress is come and go.” She answers and I nod.
“She was beating him. He was going to die. I. I just lost it.” I explain and she nods. “Could you take me to the hospital?” I ask.
“Yeah. Killian and Kai are there. Zane is working with the kids from the orphanage.” She tells me and the next thing I know I am standing in the hospital.
There are gasps from nurses as we appear from nothing.
“I’m going to see if Zane needs help.” Addie says, then disappears.
“Can you tell me where Mikey is please?” I ask the nurse standing closest to me and she nods, silently, then leads me to a room on the second floor. I enter the room to see Marissa holding Mikey’s hand with tears in her eyes. His torso is wrapped in gauze and his gaze turns to me.
“Luna.” They both say and bow their heads.
“How are you feeling?” I ask Mikey who flinches a little when he tries to move.
“I’m better than expected.” He says and I nod.
“He is healing faster since his birthday is in two days. He’ll get his wolf soon and it shows.” Marissa explains
and I smile.
“Good. That is good to hear.” I say and he nods.
“Who will be with you when you shift?” I ask and Marissa flinches.
“The troubled orphans shift alone.” He answers and I shake my head at the outrageous words.
“Well. I would like to be there if you don’t mind.” I ask and he nods. Marissa pulls a face and I smile slightly. Marissa should be there too. She could help you shift, since I don’t have a wolf. I normally j focus and try to calm them.” I say and her eyes dart to me as I wink. She blushes slightly as

“Sure. If you would want. You don’t have to though.” He rushes out and she shakes her head.
“I would love to be there.” She answers and now he is blushing. He clears his throat and looks to me.
“I. I wanted to thank you for saving me.” He says and I shake my head.
“No thanks needed, Mikey, I’m just glad you are okay.” I say and he shakes his head, his eyes pleading with

me to understand,
“Not just that time.” He says and I look at him in confusion. He takes a deep breath and looks at Marissa, who nods encouragingly and he turns back to me.
“Your eyes. I could never forget them. You were there during the attack 11 years ago.” He starts to say and my blood turns cold. “You saved me and a lot of the kids. Thank you.” He says and I shake my head.
“Please don’t thank me for that.” I begin to argue, but his eyes turn hard with determination.
“You might have been on the wrong side during the attack, but you helped the kids that couldn’t make it to the vault in time. I watched as you saved them, and only took the lives of the ones who would have died anyway. You did what you could being in the position you were in. Thank you for saving me back then and today. I owe you my life. Twice over.” He explains and by now I am shaking. He knows and so does Marissa, it won’t be long until the whole pack knows and hates me for it.
“We won’t tell anybody.” Marissa says, gaining my attention. Her face shows how sincere she is, Mikey nods his head in agreement too.
“I. I uh. Well. Thank you.” I stutter, voice cracking in between.
There is a knock at the door and I turn to see Killian. His shirt has dried blood on it and his eyes meet mine in
surprise, relief and concern.
“I just came to check on you.” He says, looking to Mikey who is staring at his hands on his lap.
“I’m okay. Thank you Alpha.” Mikey responds, and Killian nods, then turns to me again.
“Ziana, if you could come with me please.” Killian says roughly, an edge to his voice.
“N. No. Alpha. She saved me. Please don’t be mad at her.” Mikey quickly says.
“It’s fine. Thank you, Mikey. I will come visit you soon. Get some rest.” I say and he nods warily, glancing from
me to Killian.
I walk towards Killian, who takes my hand and transports me to his office. He begins pacing as I sit on one a
two seater chair, nervously. After a few minutes Zane walks in, his eyes looking at me with concern. He sits next to me and grabs me and inhales my scent. I stiffen at the contact. Killian stops and stares at us. After a few awkward moments, Zane lets go and blushes.
“Sorry. I uh. Just needed to calm my wolf.” Zane says. I nod and look to the floor.
“From what I have gathered. The children were being abused by Mistress Beryl and you saved Mikey. Beryl will pull through, but she is blind and paralyzed from the waist down. She will await trial. From the testimonies, she will likely be sentenced to death. You really did a number on her.” Killian explains. I just stare at him, his pink eyes settling on me. “What I can’t understand is. How did you know?” Heks, tripping me up. I didn’t think about that. All I knew was that I needed to save Mikey.
I glance from him to Zane. Both with their eyes intently on me.
“Something seemed off when I visited yesterday.” I half explain and shrug.
“Doctor Anna said that you zoned out then left your session earlier than scheduled. How did you know that you needed to leave?” Killian asks again. My heart stutters.
“I. I saw it.” I mumble. Zane puts a hand on my knee, making me turn my gaze to his beautiful golden eyes.

“What do you mean you saw it?” He asks and I flinch.
“You saw it.” Killian states. My gaze shifts to him and I see the moment he figures it out.
“You have two gifts. You literally saw it happen.” He says and I nod, while avoiding his eye contact.
“Wait. If you have two gifts. Does that mean that you are the next queen?” Zane asks, his eyes wide and
staring intently at me.
“No.” I answer as Killian grumbles something I can’t make out.
“Could you please give us more than a one word answer? You nearly killed a pack member.” Killian complains, causing me to growl loudly. His eyes widen in surprise and I cough to try to hide the fact that I just growled. Again.
“As you both know. I have dark magic. The magic gave me the ability to see the future. This is not a gift from the goddess, it is a curse from Eris.” I kind of explain. They stare at me for a moment before Zane clears his
throat.
“Is that the reason you won’t give us a chance? Because of the dark magic?” He asks.
“Or because you’ve seen something?” Kilian asks and I frown. I don’t know how to answer that question. But I don’t have to because the next moment the door bursts open revealing a flushed warrior.
“Alpha. Another woman was just taken.” The warrior rushes out.
“Sh*t.” Killian says, then turns to me.
“We aren’t done with this conversation.” He says then he grabs Zane and the warrior then disappears, leaving me. He didn’t even ask if I wanted to go.
I grumble and make my way outside to try to figure out where they went.
When I step out of the door I pause. There is a black rose and lily, sitting on top of a thick white envelope.
My heart begins to beat faster as blood rushes to my ears. I bend down and pick them up. I look around and see it’s clear. Nobody at all in sight. I open the envelope and stare down at the familiar handwriting. A small picture of me in the training field here is taped to the corner of the page.
I finally found you, my angel of death. Imagine my surprise to find out that you have mated not 1, but 2 people. If you think that they can save you, you’re wrong. Our game will be coming to an end soon. Mark my words Angel. You are mine and I will have you soon.
The things I have planned for you will be even worse than before since you thought you could run. I will carve out their marks and make you pay for giving yourself to another. YOU ARE MINE.

I stare at the words on the page. What are the chances that another girl was taken and same time? He has to be the cause of what is going on here. But why? My mind is racing as I make my way back to my room. I have to find him before he comes for me. There is no other option.
