Chapter119
Ziana’s POV
Regina escaped, and I know he won’t let me go that easily. Even though I was abused in multiple ways, I was never sexually abused, which is more than I can say for some others. My virginity was promised to Reginald, he constantly would taunt me and tell me all of the sick things he would do to me. I will have to try to find him and all the other runners to try and kill them. Hopefully mother and Warrick will allow me to do so.
In other thoughts. Warrick wants to adopt me? What the hell? I’m not too sure about that. Mom is different,
she gave birth to me and I already have this connection to her. The paternal connection that I d. realize I never had with Father. Franklin I mean. I think I will have to get to know Warrick more before I agree.
It seems like I just layed down when another knock comes through the door. I sit up, watching as mother
comes back in, no Warrick this time.
“Are you ready for dinner?” She asks and my stomach growls in response as she laughs. I don’t answer her, I
just get up and follow her out of the house to the communal dining room. As I step through the archway, I
pause and have a mini panic attack. There are too many people here, there is NO way they are all family. I
only feel the familial connection to mom and another man.
Everyone lines the room, as my eyes widen.
“Okay. Warrick you know.” Mom says pointing to Warrick and I nod my head. She pointed to the older lady
next to him.
“This is Iris, Warrick’s mother. Next to her is Talissa, or Tali, one of her daughters and Warrick’s sister. Next is
Marie, Tali’s mate and my head gamma. Next to her is Nalissa, Tali’s twin and your uncle Lincoln’s mate. He
is next to her. Lincoln, or Linc, is your father’s brother and my beta.” She pauses as I say all of their names
again, trying to memorize them.
“Next we have Henry, who is Warrick’s gamma, and his mate Sirena. She is a siren.” She says as the purple haired beauty smiles and waves to me. I smile back.
“Next is Reanna. Her brother Jaxon was taken during the fight. Jaxon was Warrick’s beta. They grew up together and Reanna is Warrick’s honorary sister. Then you know Adría and Lettie.” She says and I nod.
“Everyone has you know, this is my daughter Ziana.” She gestures towards me. I smile and wave awkwardly.
“Hey.” I say. They all smile, one at a time coming to introduce themselves again. They are all welcoming and I don’t think I have ever seen so many nice and welcoming people in one place.
We all sit around a large dining table that already has food placed on it and begin eating. Everybody is keeping the conversation light. I appreciate that and so do Lettie and Addie.
After dinner everybody just mingles. I am with Tali and Marie, listening to them argue over what dessert was better.
I feel a small tug on my elbow and I look to see Sirena standing about a foot taller than me. Her smile seems off and her eyes tell me she would like to talk to me privately. I excuse myself from Tali and Marie and follow Sirena to an isolated hallway. She looks at me, her bright blue eyes from earlier, seem to dim..
“You okay?” I ask and she exhales.

Chapter 119
“I can sense the darkness in you.” She says and my eyes widen as I look around to see if anybody else is
listening.
“What?” I ask and she smiles sadly.
Fainte
“Being a siren, we were created using dark magic, we can sense dark magic. I can feel it in you.” She says and
Inod.
“So…” I trail off, not knowing what she is wanting by telling me this.
“So I would like to help. The darkness is hard to understand, but I can help. It can consume you and when you
are triggered it takes over. Right?” She asks and I nod my head.
“There have been times where I black out and don’t remember what happened. Most times it h
children are hurt.” I answer and she nods.

“I can help you control the black outs if you would like. It seems as though the darkness may be triggered when helping others, which would be ideal. But I can still help so that you won’t black out. It took me a while
to control mine.” She offers and I smile.
“Yeah, actually. I would like that. Thank you for offering.” I say, truly grateful. She smiles and pulls me in for a
tight hug, which I was not expecting.
“Of course. I’m here if you need to talk to anybody. Now let’s get back out there so they don’t come looking
for us.” She says pulling me back towards the large group.
After finding Addie and Lettie I zone out while they are talking and look around the room. There is laughter and love all throughout the common area and I can’t help but smile.
I hope that I can learn to be a part of this family and learn to love like this. It’s something that has been
missing throughout my life.
With that sense of longing I walk around the room to mingle a bit more. Hopefully my future here will be
better than my past before.
Unknown POV *2 weeks later*
I watch, cloaked, as Angel or as I have heard people calling her, Ziana, trains a group of kids. Her smile
makes me sick. She shouldn’t be smiling and she damn well shouldn’t be HERE. She was promised to me and
is mine. My wolf growls in agreement and in anger.
You will be mine, Angel. I vow to that. It may not be today, or even within the next year, but I will come for you.
And I promise you that when I get you back I will ensure that you never smile and know nothing but pain, my
pretty.
