Adelaide looked annoyed and said, “Don’t you have anything
better to do than constantly watching me?”
“As a big brother, it’s my duty to protect my sister. Am I supposed to just stand by and watch you escape from one jerk, only to fall into the hands of another?” Spencer said solemnly.
Adelaide slowly said, “You’re the jerk.”
Spencer had a cold and stern look, with even darker eyes. “We grew up together as siblings since we were kids, anyone can
hurt you, but I won’t.”
After saying that, he forcefully pushed Adelaide into the car.
Adelaide knew she couldn’t escape, so she just gave him a
resentful glare and said, “Don’t you feel guilty saying things like
that?”
Spencer still didn’t waver, he said firmly, “I know you have
some misunderstandings about me, I will slowly explain it to
you. I can swear on my life, I never thought of hurting you from
beginning to end, I just want to treat you well.”
The light outside the window reflected two flashes in his pupils,
Adelaide frowned, glanced outside, and immediately shouted,

“Mr. Pierce, those people…” The bodyguard hesitated.
“Crash into it!” Spencer said expressionlessly.
Adelaide’s pupils shrank and she said angrily, “Those are the
Cohen family’s people!”
“Oh?” Spencer stared at her intently, “So that kid just now was
the Cohen family’s kid. Got it, past, gone!”
“You!” Adelaide thought he was really crazy!
The bodyguard heard what he said, then he stepped on the gas.
Adelaide held her breath, and Spencer reached out to grab her
shoulder to prevent her from falling.
“Let go!”
“Listen, Adele,” Spencer said firmly, but his gaze remained
outside.
Even though their car was driving recklessly, those who tried to stop the car still managed to dodge at the last moment. Their car smoothly drove out of Cherry Manor. Adelaide struggled to
break free, sitting alone by the car door when they were
satisfied to take back their gaze.
He let her play her little temper, put down his arm, and asked,
“Adele, I’m curious when did you start dealing with these people.”
“Can’t I have my own circle of friends instead of just revolving around your family for the rest of my life?” Adelaide said coldly.
“What’s yours is ours, that’s our home,” Spencer corrected her seriously.
“You’d better not go into business, go be a leader in MLM instead.”
Spencer sighed helplessly and explained, “Adeje, I didn’t mean anything else. I’m just worried about you making friends carelessly and getting bullied. Those people are not in the same class as us, and they play all kinds of tricks. You’ve known Garrett for 22 years and he still fooled you, let alone those rich second generations who are always immersed in a life of debauchery and extravagance.”
Adelaide thought Teresa’s evaluation of him was spot on, always thinking she’s right, even a total weirdo.
She didn’t notice at all back then.
She snapped out of her thoughts and said coldly, “Don’t think
everyone is a bad person except the Pierce family. Isn’t it
because of you guys that Garrett ended up like this?”
Seeing her still trying to defend Garrett, Spencer looked a bit

gloomy. “If he really did nothing wrong, then how did he fall
into the trap? Do you think he’s completely innocent? Adele, you can’t just see things from one perspective.””
“He’s definitely not innocent, but you guys aren’t any better!”
Adelaide glared at him, “Don’t use your high and mighty
experience to preach to me.”
In her eyes, Spencer saw disgust and aloofness, he didn’t like
that feeling.
