Outside the ward, there were several high–level executives
from the Hicks Group, surrounded by Spencer.
Someone saw Adelaide first, “Ms. Pierce is here.”
Suddenly, Spencer turned around.
Adelaide ignored him, nodded slightly to the executives, and
then turned and entered the ward. Spencer quickly briefed
them and went in as well.
At that moment, Finley was awake. When he saw Adelaide
coming, he smiled with relief and said, “Adele is here.”
Sitting next to Jeanette, who was peeling an apple, didn’t hide her dissatisfaction and disgust towards Adelaide at all. “She probably wishes she didn’t have to come. If she really didn’t come, someone would scold her, so she had to come.”
“What’s wrong with you?” Finley snapped at her, “I’m sick, can’t my daughter come to see me? Do you have to drive Adele away? With people watching, don’t you have any sense of
saving face?”

Adelaide raised an eyebrow, feeling like Finley had changed

“Mom, you should go check on Mandy!” Spencer hinted subtly.
Jeanette was feeling really frustrated, the father and son were

by this little girl.
She glared angrily at Adelaide and stormed out of the ward.
At that moment, Spencer stood by her and said gently, “Adele,
sit over there and talk to Dad.”
Adelaide began to have doubts in her mind.
Because the harmony between the father and son was just too
weird.
Adelaide avoided his touch and sat in the chair Jeanette had just
been sitting in.
Finley asked, “Do you have a routine at Orvenix Group?”
Adelaide: “Great,”
“I used to think that girls should be taken care of carefully, so I didn’t want the Pierce family’s daughter to go out and work. But seeing how Mr. Thorton values you so much, and you’re doing well. So I can’t say anything, but girls will always be girls.”
“Adele, you moved back in, so I feel relieved.”
“No, I was comfortable living outside,” Adelaide refused directly.
Spencer frowned and said, “It’s dangerous out there, how can it be safer than home?”

“Look away,” Adelaide met Finley’s slightly angry eyes, “Dad, I appreciate your kindness. But things have escalated between
me and Amanda, and now Mom is also giving me the cold
shoulder. Living in that kind of environment, to be honest, I’m
afraid I might get depressed.”
Finley was pissed off by the three words depression.
Spencer gave a mild scolding, “Adele, speak nicely.”
She ignored him and kept talking to Finley, “Dad, I sold the
house in Morgan Estates.“”
Finley gave her a look and said, “I know.“”
“The house was given to me by you in the first place, so it’s not
right for me to sell it without permission, therefore the money
should be returned to you. But the money compensated by the

“Did you freeze all of Adele’s bank cards?”

Adelaide sneered, “Spencer said I was too rich and arrogant to
run away from home, wanting me to experience the taste of
being poor. He even said I was being deceived into working for
Orvenix Group. Dad, do you think Orvenix Group is some kind
