Chapter107
Spencer took a deep breath, feeling really annoyed.
“Back to the office.”
There was a third person in the car, it was Teresa, so it was quite
lively.
Thorto
Teresa couldn’t help but ask curiously, “Mr. Thorton, why did
Spencer come out all right?”
This is also where Adelaide got curious.
Reginald glanced in the rearview mirror and said, “Cornelius
helped Finley get rid of a lot of evidence, but there’s still some
that couldn’t be dealt with. Finley confessed and got detained
voluntarily, Spencer got off the hook, and now he’s gonna be
busy doing damage control and PR, probably until the New
Year.”
Adelaide was quite surprised.
Because Finley actually sacrificed himself to save Spencer.
Later on, I thought, after all, he is my own son, the successor.

“What a pity!” Teresa clapped her hands, looking full of regret.
“Estimated to lose tens of billions.”
Reginald’s words made Teresa feel relieved again, “That’s really
awesome!”
Adelaide was silent, still feeling something weird.
In the end, Reginald drove Teresa home first.
When there were only the two of them left in the car, it felt
especially quiet.
“Just ask if you want to know, why hold it in.”
Adelaide heard that, blinked, and looked up at him.
“Don’t ask?”
“I feel like you deliberately left out Finley and Spencer again.“”
She didn’t want to think that way, but considering Reginald’s
past behavior, it shouldn’t be surprising.
If we consider her relationship with the Pierce family, it just
doesn’t feel right.
Reginald chuckled lightly, not hiding it at all. “It’s really clever,” she said. “It’s quite a coincidence, actually. I just wanted them to stumble a bit, not to focus too much on you. But Nathan found

something interesting when he checked.”
Something interesting?
“Finley was working for the Walton family.”
“The Walton family?” Adelaide felt like she had heard that
surname before, but couldn’t quite remember.
“When Reginald said ‘the Walton family‘ in a cold and
disdainful tone, it sounded like he was talking about something
disgusting.”
Adelaide knew that these business people or aristocratic
families basically all have some kind of connections. It’s not
surprising that Finley has someone backing him up.
But she vaguely felt that Reginald was very interested in the
Walton family of Koblax, even with some kind of grudge.
She didn’t continue asking.
Because this was no longer something she should be involved
in, her only goal was always one: to break away from the Pierce
family and stand on her own two feet.
Seeing that she didn’t respond, Reginald glanced at her and said,
“Why didn’t you continue asking?”
Adelaide’s face darkened without a trace, “I don’t care who’s

above Finley, I just know Mr. Thornton helped me vent my
anger.”
Reginald’s gloom lifted, he smirked and said, “Want to thank me
again?”
“I’ll treat Mr. Thorton to dinner another day”
“Don’t postpone it, do it tomorrow.”
“I’m going to…going to the Schmitt’s villa tomorrow,” Adelaide
said, a flash of malice in her eyes when talking about Anderson.
Last night, she totally forgot about Anderson’s thing.
She had to personally go find Garrett.
“Is it noon or night?”
“At night.”
“Let’s have lunch at noon.”
Adelaide didn’t hesitate, she agreed. Such a big favor, she should
be more proactive.
All night long, the internet was buzzing.
Adelaide, still half asleep, answered Teresa’s call first.
She giggled non–stop on the phone, “Do you know I’ve been

browsing online for a whole hour!”
Adelaide fumbled into the bathroom, brushed her teeth and
washed her face.
“What are you looking at?” she croaked.
