Eden
Azriel gives me a sexy smirk that is all him. “Of course you get wings. You wouldn’t be a high–fae without them, would you?”
I stare at him for a minute then, “How do I bring them out?”
Azriel lifts his hand and snaps his fingers. I feel something happen on my back and glance behind me. The new wings twitch.
“Oh, hell no.”
They’re massive. Feathered like Azriel’s, but fox–orange instead of black. They feel strange, like new limbs I didn’t ask for. I try to fold them tighter, only to flare them out like a peacock on cocaine.
Azriel chuckles, catching my arm. “Careful, little fox.”
“I’m not a fox anymore,” I mutter, eyeing him with narrowed eyes. “I’m apparently some kind of bird now.”
“You’re still you,” he says and shifts in the grass, gently adjusting the angle of my wings. “Just… upgraded.”
I feel the flutter of them, like a heartbeat I’m not used to listening to. It’s weird.
I spin on my heel, folding them tighter, and catch his smug expression. “Don’t laugh. I will figure out how to weaponize these.”
“I’d be disappointed if you didn’t.”
I snort. “Careful. You don’t want to encourage my feisty side.”
“Your feisty side is what makes my cock hard.”
I gasp. “Azriel!”
“Eden,” he says back with cheek.
My eyes narrow, and he steps behind me. His attention is on my new, wings, and he carefully brushes his fingers over the orange feathers. I flinch.
Why does that feel so…ungh…good!
“Sensitive?” he asks, amused.
I glare at him, but don’t have time to get mad. He is rubbing my wing now, and heat immediately spreads between my legs.
Azriel’s lips twitch. “I asked you a question, Eden.”
Oh my god, he is acting as if I didn’t just pleasure him with wing porn!
“You know the answer to that, Azriel.”
He smirks and trails another touch, just to hear my breath hitch. “Just testing for science.”
The bastard knows exactly what he’s doing.
I inhale sharply. “Your kind of science is horny and dangerous.”
“And yet, here you are,” he says, stepping in front of me again, tone softening. “You came back.”
I meet his gaze. He is looking at me like, I hung the stars and moon and it almost undoes me.

Chapter 951
“I didn’t come back for the court,” I say quietly. “Or to be some hero.”
“I know.”
“I came back for you. For Axel. For the people I love.”
Azriel nods slowly. “You saved me.”
“I couldn’t let you die. Not like that. Not alone and broken.”
He steps forward, lifting his hand to cup my cheek. “I gave up on myself, Eden. You didn’t.”
“I never will.”
He kisses me like he’s starving. Like my mouth is the only thing keeping him sane. It’s not gentle. It’s desperate, possessive, all tongue and heat and a lou growl rumbling from his chest like he wants to devour me.
I always thought love would be softer. Slower. But this? This is a war cry and a lifeline in one. I never want it to end.
But it does and when we’re no longer kissing and making out, he presses his forehead to mine. “Fly with me?”
“I just got these wings like five minutes ago.”
“I’ll catch you if you fall.”
“You’d better.”
He takes my hand and spreads his wings, dragging me with him. I forget everything when he does it. It’s just the wind. The sky and him beside me.
And once he let go we still don’t go far. I’m clumsy. Azriel catches me twice. But I laugh, really laugh, and he laughs too.
The wind howls past my ears and I feel drunk on air and adrenaline. My wings wobble. I tilt sideways and let out a small shriek, but Azriel sweeps under me with practiced grace, catching me like it’s nothing.
“Show–off,” I pant, breathless while sitting bridal–style in his arms.
He grins. “I warned you.”
When we land, he wraps his wings around me.
“You’re mine,” he murmurs, voice rough against my neck.
“I was always yours,” I whisper. “Even before I knew what that meant.”
We stand there for a moment, tangled in feathers and the hush of new beginnings.
After everything I’m still here. Still his. Still Eden.
He mouth meets mine again. His kiss is the same and somehow different. Like he’s pouring every broken piece of himself into me, sealing us together with heat and hunger. I don’t care if I have wings or claws or nothing at all. I just want him. Alive. Here. Mine.
His hands slide to my hips, pulling me closer. My hand instinctively touches his wing, brushing it slowly.
He groans, breaking the kiss. “Do you have any idea what that does to me?”
I blink up at him, all mock innocence. “Touch your wing and you melt like chocolate in the sun? Yes. I’ve learned.”
“Eden.”

“Azriel,” 1 echo sweetly, dragging my fingers through the feathers again. “You’re not the only one who likes playing with science
His wings twitch violently. He bites back another groan, and this time, there’s real panic in his eyes. As if I’ve discovered a secret weapon and I’m far ton reckless to wield it responsibly.
He shudders and repeats my name. “Eden.”
“Don’t act like you don’t love it.”
He tries for a growl but ends up blushing.
My smirk widens. “You’re adorable when you’re flustered.”
“You’re a terrorist,” he mutters, sweeping me into his arms. “Come on. Let me show you how good being mine can feel.”
“You’ve already done that,” I say breathlessly.
He grins, dark and dangerous. “Not like I plan on doing it tonight. It will be different. Much different..”
He carries me off, wings flaring behind us like a curtain of night and flame.
And as we vanish into the castle, I realize I’m not just flying.
I’m finally free.
