Chapter 65

Ignoring the shouts from behind, Olivia walked away without looking back. She had been walking for a long time but still hadn’t made it out of the forest. She had no idea when it would end

By now, the sky had already started to darken. If she couldn’t get out of there, staying in the forest overnight would be very dangerous, even without the threat of wild animals

With the rain falling from the sky, the temperature would drop even lower at night. Hypothermia would be a serious risk, not to mention the possibility of a landslide

Olivia gritted her teeth and forced herself to keep going. After a while, she suddenly heard the sound of a helicopter flying overhead

She looked up, but the trees around her severely limited her line of sight. She felt like a frog at the bottom of a well, able to see only a small patch of sky and no sign of the helicopter

Even if Olivia shouted at the top of her lungs, the people in the helicopter wouldn’t be able to hear her

She thought for a moment, then found a slightly more open area, turned on the flashlight on her phone, and waved it at the sky

It was already getting dark. If the people in the helicopter were looking down with binoculars, they should be able to see the flickering light in the

darkness

I hope they spot me before my phone battery runs out,she thought to herself

After waving for over half an hour, she finally heard the sound of the helicopter getting closer

A helicopter flew directly overhead, and then a beam of bright light shone down, flashing twice to signal that they had seen her

Olivia let her sore, tired arm rest and sat down on the ground to wait. After about ten minutes, two bodyguards descended on a rope ladder

Mrs. Wilson, why are you here alone? Where’s Mr. Wilson?they asked

He’s injured and can’t move. I’ll take you to him,Olivia replied

The bodyguards quickly helped Olivia onto the helicopter, and she directed them to find Dylan and Chloe

A helicopter has a limited capacity for passengers, so Dylan and Chloe were taken away by another helicopter, while Olivia was the first to leave

After returning, Olivia went home first, took a hot shower, changed into dry clothes, and then went to the hospital to treat the abrasions on her hands. and body and to check on the fetus

She had only felt a slight heaviness in her lower abdomen. She thought she was fine

But after the doctor examined her, he looked very serious. Do you know you’re having a threatened miscarriage?”

Huh?Olivia looked surprised. But I don’t feel anything. I just have a slight heaviness in my lower abdomen. There’s no severe pain, and there’s no bleeding.”

The doctor glanced at her bandaged hand and said, Maybe the pain from your other injuries is distracting yo abdominal pain. And the heaviness is already an abnormal sign

d reducing your perception of the

You’re carrying twins, so you need to be even more careful. You should be hospitalized for three days to preserve the pregnancy and be observed. If the fetal buds and heartbeats are normal, the babies can be saved.”

Olivia had no choice but to follow the doctor’s advice and be hospitalized for observation. During these three days, Olivia learned about Dylan’s condition through Ivan

Chapter 65

Dylan’s leg was severely injured. As soon as they got back to the city, he underwent immediato debridement and was given a talanes

But that night, he still developed a high fever. He was so feverish that he was delirious, and it took three days for his fever to start going down

Olivia told Ivan to find the two kidnappers she had tied up and investigate who had ordered them to kidnap bylan

But Ivan told her that the landslide had buried the two men. It took the firefighters two days to dig them out, and by the time they were found, they we already dead

Ivan could only offer to investigate through other channels, but it would take time. It might not be possible to determine right away whether a had een their own idea or if someone had been behind it all

Three days later, Olivia had another checkup, and all the fetal data were normal. The heaviness in her lower abdomen had completely disappeared

The doctor said, Although the fetusesindicators have returned to normal, you are somewhat weak. You’re injured, and your body needs a lot of energy and nutrition to heal, which might affect the development of the fetuses

Keep an eye on things and come in for a checkup once a week. If it affects the development of the fetuses later on, you might have to consider reducing the number of fetuses. Be prepared for that possibility.”

Olivia was feeling a whirlwind of emotions. She hadn’t expected the impact to be so significant

However, the idea of reducing the number of fetuses was acceptable to her. She just needed one child. Her primary goal was to use the child to get her hands on the inheritance. The number didn’t matter

Ever since she found out she was carrying twins, Olivia had done some research online about the size of a pregnant belly with twins and the potential health risks to the mother. She had to admit that she was scared by what she found

The doctor had told her that she had a posterior placenta, which meant her belly would be much smaller than if she had an anterior placenta

By controlling her diet, she might be able to keep her belly size similar to that of a woman carrying a single baby by the time she gave birth. But she still felt uneasy from time to time

She also considered the future. After divorcing Dylan, she would have to raise the two children on her own. She was afraid she wouldn’t be able to handle

Even before the incident, Olivia had thought about reducing the number of fetuses. She could live with that idea

As Olivia was leaving the hospital and about to hail a taxi to go home, she received a call from Morgan

Ollie, why didn’t you tell me that Dylie was kidnapped and that you got hurt trying to save him? You guys always keep things from me.”

If it weren’t for the fact that Dylie didn’t show up at the company for days and the board members couldn’t handle some matters and contacted me, would still be in the dark,Morgan said, his voice tinged with reproach

Mr. Wilson, I was worried that if you knew, it would affect your mood and, in turn, your health. I planned to tell you once we were both better. We’re all alive, after all. It’s not a big dealOlivia replied

Hey, don’t say things like that,Morgan said, his voice rising in anger. I just saw Dylie. He’s seriously injured. How about you? How bad are your injuries?”

Olivia glanced at her heavily bandaged left hand and said, I got a bit hurt on my left hand, but other than that, I’m fine. I can walk and move around on my own.”

Morgan let out a sigh of relief. As long as you’re okay.”

Where are you now? Why aren’t you at the same hospital as Dylie? Dylie’s in a bad mood. If you’re fine, you should go see him,Morgan said

Olivia agreed and hailed a taxi to go to the private hospital that the Wilson family had invested in and opened. When she arrived, Morgan was still there
