Chapter 57
Dylan’s pupils contracted, and he abruptly stood up.
He glanced at Chloe beside him, then strode upstairs with his phone. Once inside his study and with the door firmly shut, he began to demand, “Who are you? How did you get my wife’s phone? What have you done with her?”
From the other end of the line came the man’s low chuckle, tinged with a hirft of mockery. “What we do is none of your business, is it?”
Julian had deliberately lowered his voice, making it sound different from usual, so Dylan didn’t recognize him.
Dylan roared in fury, “I’m her husband. How dare you say it’s none of my business? I’m warning you. If you dare to lay a finger on my wife, I’ll make sure you regret it for the rest of your life.”
Julian retorted, “When you were with your mistress, you totally ignored your wife. Now that she’s with me, what right do you have to be angry? You set such low standards for yourself, but demand so much from her. Don’t you think that’s a bit excessive?”
Dylan clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. “This is between her and me. It’s none of your business to butt in. Tell me where you are. I’m coming to find you right now.”
Julian sheered, “Go ahead and enjoy your time with your mistress.”
Dylan was beside himself with rage. “How did you know I have a mistress? Did Olivia tell you that? No, Chloe isn’t my mistress. Olivia is truly malicious. She interfered with our relationship and even slandered Chloe.”
Julian said, “In that case, let me do you a favor. Turning Olivia from your wife into mine sounds like a good idea, doesn’t it? Then, you will have a chance to marry your mistress.”
Ignoring Dylan’s impotent fury, Julian hung up the phone.
Julian turned his head and saw that Olivia had woken up at some point, staring at him with a blank face.
Julian felt a bit guilty. “Why are you awake? Did I wake you up?”
Olivia asked him, “The time abroad, when you said it was a harassing call, it was also from Dylan, right? You were also provoking him on purpose?”
Julian replied, “I don’t think it’s provocation. This time isn’t either. I’m just having a normal conversation with him.”
Olivia looked at him without saying a word.
Julian’s tone turned a bit sulky. “Are you angry? Shall I call him back and explain? I’ll tell him I found your phone, and because I’m extremely love–starved and have a twisted mind, I deliberately wanted to sabotage your relationship. That’s why I said those things?”
Olivia said, “I’m not angry. There’s no need to explain. Just lie down and sleep with me. I want to fall asleep touching your abs.”
Julian let out a low chuckle, feeling pleased. He lay down beside her, pulled her into his arms, and placed her hand on his abs.
Olivia gave them a firm rub, then moved her hand to his glutes.
At that moment, Julian’s phone rang. It was Dylan calling. Julian answered it.
Dylan’s voice came through immediately. “Mr. Hudson, Ivan said you picked Olivia up this afternoon? Why did you go to get her? Where did you take her? Did you see her with anyone?”
This time, Julian replied in his normal voice, “While I was out on business, I saw your assistant picking up the maid who lives at your house with a bouquet of roses, saying the flowers were from you.”
“That maid even called you ‘Darling‘. What’s your relationship with her?”

Chapter 57
Dylan, not expecting Julian to turn the question back on him, was momentarily speechless.
After a long pause, he said, “It’s just a show of support for an employee. Mr. Hudson, don’t read too much into it.”
Julian remarked, “You send a maid flowers and have her picked up specially, yet you neglect your own wife. Is this what the Wilson family taught you? It’s quite something, isn’t it?”
Dylan, feeling somewhat embarrassed, quickly changed the subject. “Let’s not talk about that now. Mr. Hudson, tell me where you took Olivia. I can’t get in touch with her, and I’m really worried.”
Julian said, “Isn’t it convenient that she’s not going home? How many days has it been since you last saw that maid? This gives you a perfect chance to spend some quality time together.
“I wasn’t considerate enough before. I didn’t realize she was your mistress, living right under your nose, and sharing a room with you, which cut into your nighttime together.
“To make up for it, I won’t go back and disturb you tonight. You two should take this opportunity to build your relationship.”
Dylan said urgently, “Mr. Hudson, don’t hang up yet. Tell me first. Where did you take Olivia? Who is she with?”
Julian lied without batting an eyelid. “I happened to pass by and saw she wasn’t picked up, so I gave her a ride back to the city. But I had other things to do, so I left her by the roadside to take a taxi home.
“I don’t know where she went. I’m busy, so I can’t talk anymore.”
After hanging up, Julian nuzzled Olivia’s head and asked, “Should I go hide? What if he comes looking and as us-”
Olivia sald, “No need to hide. Chloe is with him. She won’t let Dylan come out looking for me.”
Dylan was indeed entangled with Chloe.
After seeing Dylan leave her behind and run upstairs, Chloe followed him and kept knocking on the study door, but Dylan didn’t open it.
It was only after Dylan had made two phone calls that he opened the study door.
Chloe looked at him with tearful eyes. “Darling, why did you suddenly leave me without a word and go upstairs alone? You weren’t like this before.”
Dylan walked past her, heading out in a hurry, and said without turning back, “I have something urgent to deal with. Stay at home and contact Ivan if anything happens.”
Chloe called after his back, her voice full of hurt, “Are you going to see Olivia again? Are you going to leave me for Olivia once more? You promised me abroad that you wouldn’t do this again. So what are you doing now?”
Dylan stopped in his tracks and patiently explained, “If something happens to her, I won’t be able to face Grandpa. I’m not going because I care about her. Don’t overthink it.”
Chloe choked out. “She’s an adult. What could possibly happen to her? And with Mr. Hudson being with her, nothing will happen for sure. Are you worried about Olivia getting into trouble, or are you worried about her having an affair?”
