Chapter 33
Olivia’s smile didn’t falter. Her lips barely moved as she hissed through clenched teeth, “Idiot.”
While she was cursing under her breath, Morgan, hobbling out with the help of a cane, wore a look of pure satisfaction, as if he’d just witnessed a romantic drama finally feach its happy ending.
He said, “Looks like you really need some time away together. After this trip, your relationship seems stronger than ever. Just look at Ollie’s rosy cheeks and refreshing state.
“Bet you had a great time. That’s way better than the last three years. Good, you really should spend more time together. Stop working yourselves to death all the time.”
He waved them over cheerfully, still laughing.
Olivia held Dylan’s arm as they walked into the living room, smiling from ear to ear. In her heart, she’d already cursed him out countless times. But on the surface, she looked like the picture of a woman in love.
She figured that the Oscars owed her a statuette. Not even a Best Actress winner could fake it better than she could.
She composed herself and greeted Morgan with a bright smile. “Grandpa, we’re back. While we were gone, did you follow the doctor’s instructions and take care of yourself?”
Morgan replied, “I always listen to the doctor. Ask Stinson if you don’t believe me.”
Stinson chuckled. “Yeah, he’s been following the doctor’s orders to the letter. He even plays the doctor’s recorded instructions every day. After that, he lounges in his recliner watching TV, barely breaking a hundred steps a day.”
Morgan shot him a glare. “Stinson, tattling isn’t a good habit, especially for someone your age.”
Olivia laughed and walked over to give Morgan a shoulder massage. “Grandpa, Stinson is just worried about your health. The doctor said you should walk at least half an hour a day to keep the blood flowing.
“If you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t even be able to hold your great–grandchild when they come, you know?”
Morgan’s eyes lit up, filled with hope. “Wait, you’re pregnant?”
Olivia lowered her head, a shy blush blooming on her face. She cast a glance at Dylan before answering, “We haven’t confirmed it yet, but I’m almost sure. We’ve, uh, been trying pretty hard during the vacation.”
“Excellent! I’m finally going to have a great–grandchild. I’ll start exercising first thing tomorrow,” Morgan was overjoyed.
Dylan, however, frowned and cast Olivia a look full of disapproval.
Morgan smacked Dylan’s leg with his cane and snapped, “What’s with the sour face, you brat? Ollie is pregnant, but you’re unhappy? Are you asking for a
beating?”
Dylan averted his gaze with a sigh. “I’m not unhappy, I just don’t think she should go around making announcements when nothing’s confirmed yet. What if it turns out to be a false alarm? I don’t want to get your hopes up for nothing.”
Morgan snorted, “Ollie says she’s almost sure, and I believe her.”
Delay said, “Look, we’ve left for less than a month. Even if she’s pregnant, we won’t know that so soon. She just said that to make you hap
Morgan huffed, “Anyway, if she’s not pregnant, I’ll break your legs. That only means you’re useless.”
Dylan muttered to himself in frustration, ‘There’s no reasoning with this stubborn old man. Olivia started this lie, and I’ll just let her clean it up herself.

Chapter 33
Olivia handed Morgan the gifts she brought back. They were just little trinkets, nothing expensive, but Morgan was clearly delighted. He llar ki place them on the nightstand in his bedroom like they were treasures.
Then, Morgan looked expectantly at Dylan’s empty hands. “Show me yours.”
Dylan said flatly, “I forgot. If there’s anything you want, just tell me. I’ll have someone send it over.”
Morgan’s smile instantly vanished. “Get out. Go visit your mother. I really wanna hear her yell at you now.”
Olivia and Dylan made their way upstairs to visit Ellen. They found her in the lounge, gaming on her phone.
Judging by her expression, she just lost a match. She was furiously cursing at the screen. Her opponent, clearly a kid, burst into tears, ran to get his mother, and the two women launched into an all–out verbal brawl.
The kid’s mother shrieked, “Seriously? A grown woman argues with a kid? What, can’t have one of your own? Is that why you hate kids so much?”
Ellen shot back without missing a beat, “Oh, so the little brat does have a mother, huh? I honestly thought he was an orphan. He ruined the whole match for the team and then started cursing.
“Now I get it. Like mother, like son. Your whole family is just stupid and impolite.”
The woman screamed through the mic, “You filthy bitch! Fuck you! You have a death wish or what? Let’s settle this offline, See–if I don’t tear your fucking mouth open.”
Her son could be heard shrieking behind her, “AHHHHH! YOU OLD WITCH! I’M GONNA KILL YOU!”
Ellen replied, “Wishing your whole family will never make it to my age.” Then she calmly reported the kid and exited the game.
Olivia and Dylan stood to the side and witnessed the entire exchange. Both of them broke into a cold sweat.
Dylan frowned and said disapprovingly, “Mom, you really need to stop playing online games. You’re always arguing with kids. Don’t you think it’s embarrassing?”
Ellen crossed one leg over the other, casually flicked a dried booger at Dylan, and replied, “It’s only embarrassing if you lose. I win, and I’m proud of myself.”
Dylan’s face turned dark as he quickly checked his clothes, his expression twitching in horror. “Mom, you’re a society woman. Can you please act more properly?”
Ellen rolled her eyes and licked the same finger she used just now. “Mind your own business, shameless brat.”
Dylan looked like he was on the verge of an outburst.
Ellen then turned her gaze to Olivia, her face unreadable. “You really let this walking disaster touch you? Are you actually pregnant?”
Apparently, Morgan had been yelling so loudly downstairs just now, and Ellen overheard everything.
Olivia responded, “Probably. I haven’t gotten a full confirmation yet.”
Dylan growled through gritted teeth, “I’m not a walking disaster. I don’t stir trouble.”
Ellen sneered, “Didn’t you stir up Chloe? She is trouble in my eyes.”
Dylan snapped, “Don’t talk about Chloe like that.”
Ellen scoffed, “What, planning to throw your own mother under the bus for your mistress?”
Fury surged through Dylan. He clenched his fists and said, “Forget it. Talking to you is pointless.”

With that, he stormed off. Olivia quietly placed her gift down and followed behind,
Once they left Wilson Manor, Dylan drove off alone, leaving Olivia standing by the gate.
She hailed her own cab and went straight to the hospital for a blood test. As expected, she was pregnant. But it was still too early to see anything
The doctor advised her to come back in about 45 days for an ultrasound, when they could confirm embryonic development. At this stage, even a gestational sac was still invisible.
Leaving the consultation room, Olivia immediately wired Julian 300 thousand dollars. He had accompanied her for less than a month, but she paid him a full month’s fee.
She then sent him one final message: [Let’s end things here. Don’t contact me again.]
With that, she blacklisted every way he could reach her.
