Chapter 31
Chapter 31
“No more talking. Let me get you some fever medicine,” Olivia said.
When she tried to give Julian the pills, he started acting uncooperative. “I want you to feed me,”
“I am feeding you. Come on, open up.”
“With your mouth.”
Olivia shot him a look. “Only someone with a head full of crap would still try to take advantage of others while burning up with a fever.”
“Are you crap?” he asked.
“Nope.”
“But my head’s full of you.”
Olivia let out a long sigh, totally disarmed by his nonsense. Resigned, she popped the pill into her mouth. She then leaned over and kissed him, passing the pill to him. “Try this, babe, flavored with saliva.”
Julian said, “So sweet. Gimme another one.”
Olivia replied coolly, “You’re out of luck. No bonus pill for you.”
Julian chuckled and pulled her into bed with him. He tucked her hand under the blanket and guided it somewhere suggestive. “You sure you don’t wanna give it a try? I rarely get a fever. If you miss it, you might never get the chance again.”
Olivia replied, “I’m afraid if I try, you’ll die.”
He retorted, “I’m not that weak. I won’t die like this.”
Olivia couldn’t be bothered to argue with a sick man.
Julian’s fever broke the next day, but it took another five days before his injury fully healed.
Half a month after arriving on the island, Olivia had a strong feeling she was pregnant.
Her body hadn’t shown any symptoms or changes, and she hadn’t taken a test, but she was 99% sure. Her periods had always been like clockwork- every thirty days, no exception. But this time, she was three days late.
Just that day, Olivia received a call from Dylan. His voice was as cold as ever. “Fly home in eight hours. Get yourself to the airport and meet us there.” He hung up before Olivia could respond.
Olivia came to the study to talk to Julian.
Confirming that he wasn’t on a video call, she perched on his lap, wrapped her arms around his neck, and gave him a kiss before speaking, “My husband called and said I need to fly home in eight hours. Can you take me to the airport later?”
Julian paused for a moment and then held her tightly in his arms. “What if I don’t want to let you go? Forget your husband. Stay here with me.”
Olivia ruffled his hair gently and said, “Don’t be ridiculous.”
Julian gave a soft, dissatisfied hum, burying his face in her neck and peppering it with kisses and nips.
Knowing this was probably their last moment of intimacy, Olivia didn’t push him away.

Chapter 31
On the drive to the airport, Julian held Olivia the entire way, as though trying to fuse her into his very bones,
Outside the terminal, he reluctantly let go of her and said, “I have some things to take care of here, it shouldn’t take more than a month. I’ll come w after that. I’ll make up for the time I owe you, three times, no, ten times.”
Olivia smiled, dodging the emotional weight of his words. “Take care of yourself. Don’t get hurt again, okay?”
She got out, pulling her suitcase behind her. After walking a short distance, she stopped and turned back. Julian stood beside the car, watching her with deep, unreadable eyes. When he saw her looking back, he gave her a smile.
Olivia clenched her fists tightly. Her chest ached with emotion, like something fierce had slamined into it. Abandoning her luggage, she ran back to him, wrapped her arms around his neck, and stood on her toes to kiss him.
It was a fierce, desperate kiss, lasting nearly 30 seconds. When Olivia finally pulled back, she looked into his eyes. The emotions swirling inside her slowly calmed.
Julian teased, “Reluctant to leave me, huh? It’s just a month. You’ll survive. I’ll come back as soon as possible.”
Olivia smiled but didn’t respond. She simply said, “Take care. I’m leaving.”
Julian replied, “You too. See you in a month.”
But in her heart, Olivia replied, ‘Never again.‘ This time, she didn’t loo
back. She walked straight into the terminal.
After ticketing and security, Olivia entered the VIP lounge, where she
Chloe peeled a grape and held it to Dylan’s lips. “Honey, have a grape.”
Dylan ate it and gave her a soft, indulgent smile. “Thanks, sweetheart.”
spotted Dylan and Chloe.
Olivia didn’t even feel the urge to speak with them. She found a seat by herself, pulled out her phone, and started playing the game.
Leaning against Dylan, Chloe looked at Olivia with a taunting smile. “Hey, Olivia, how was your vacation? Dylan and I had so much fun. We rode the Ferris wheel, took a hot air balloon ride, and honestly, too many things to list.
“Dylan took such good care of me. He kept reminding me to put on sunscreen so I wouldn’t tan. When I got tired, he patiently waited for me to rest. When I had my period, he even bought painkillers for me.
“You must’ve had a hard time all alone in a foreign place with no one to take care
are of you, huh?”
Dylan looked over at Olivia, his eyes glinting slightly, searching for something. He thought, ‘Come on, show it. Be jealous. Look hurt.‘
But to his disappointment, he saw nothing wrong. Olivia didn’t even glance at them. Her eyes were glued to her phone, her fingers tapping swiftly across the screen.
Chloe gave a mocking laugh. “If you’re jealous, just admit it. Pretending you didn’t hear anything? That’s so pathetic. You can’t get what you want, and you can’t accept losing. It’s childish.”
Dylan’s brow twitched slightly as he thought, ‘She’s faking it. She always used to act like she didn’t care, but she still cooked for me, laid out my clothes every morning, and even ironed my socks.
‘She’s just scared I’ll see she still loves me, scared I’ll be disgusted with her. So she’s stepped up her game, playing it cooler th tricks are lame. I know exactly what’s going through her head.‘

‘That man she’s been seeing is probably just for show. She hired someone to piss me off. Even the guy who picked her up after that auction must’ve been an actor she paid for the part.‘
