Chapter 9
After hearing Ash’s words, Rianne almost laughed from anger.
She laughed even as her eyes reddened: “Ash, you can’t seriously think I’d still want to marry you
after everything that’s happened?”
“You did all this, and you still have the nerve to say you’re willing to marry me?”
“You might be willing, but I’m not! Not anymore!”
Rianne’s reddened eyes blazed with intense hatred. This made Ash’s heart tremble: “Rie, what are you saying? I don’t understand.”
“Ash, stop pretending!” Rianne couldn’t take it anymore. She pointed at the smashed projector and
spoke with a voice nearly breaking: “Weren’t those photos and videos your doing?”
Ash’s heart jolted again, and for once, his usually expressionless face widened in shock.
“Rie, you actually believe I did this?”
His voice held a hidden pain.
“Who else would it be?” Rianne said through gritted teeth. “Those photos weren’t taken by
me–someone spied on me.”
“You can pick locks. Even when my door is locked, you open it effortlessly.”
“And that final video–judging by the angle, it was taken by a security camera. You’re an elite hacker,
accessing the house cameras to spy on me would be child’s play for you.”
Rianne bit her lip so hard it bled, but she felt no pain. Blood stained her pale lips as she glared at him, shaking with fury: “Stop pretending, Ash! I know it was you!”
“Just because I slapped Sophia this morning, you decided to humiliate me like this!”
“We grew up together. Even if you don’t love me, after all these years together, how could you do this to me? Are you even human?!”
Rianne
grew more agitated with each word. Finally, she raised her hand and slapped Ash’s cold face

with all her might.
Slap!
The sharp sound echoed through the room, and a red handprint slowly appeared on Ash’s
handsome face.
Mr. Lockhart was equally furious. Leaning on his cane, he trembled as he approached Ash and demanded: “Ash, is what Rianne says true? Did you release those photos and videos?!”
For years, Mr. Lockhart had treated Ash like his own son.
Ash was extremely talented, and Mr. Lockhart had always admired him. He genuinely wanted his daughter to marry Ash! He even planned to have Ash inherit his Lockhart empire!
But how could Ash do something so inhumane?
Mr. Lockhart didn’t want to believe it. He needed to hear Ash admit it himself.
Facing Mr. Lockhart’s questioning, Ash responded with dignity: “I didn’t do it.”
“Father, Rie is my fiancée. I truly want to marry her. If I humiliated her at her own birthday party, wouldn’t that be like slapping my own face?”
Ash’s expression didn’t look like he was lying, but Rianne couldn’t trust him. Because she’d been
deceived by him too many times…
“I’ll prove my innocence,” Ash said firmly. “All digital information leaves traces. Give me a computer, and I’ll track the electronic signal.”
‘I’ll find whoever is behind this and tear them to pieces!”
