Chapter 12
Ash looked up to meet Rianne’s gaze, filled with revulsion.
The disgust in her eyes was so intense that Ash felt as if his heart was being sliced open.
How had this happened? Ash’s mind went blank as he struggled to understand why Rianne was
looking at him with such disgust.
Didn’t she love him?
Love him so much that no matter how coldly he treated her, she never minded, always coming back
with a smile, pestering him to do this and that.
Love him so much that despite being a wealthy heiress, she lowered her pride to actively pursue
him.
Love him so much that even when others mocked her, calling her his lapdog, she didn’t care, proudly answering: “Yes, I love Ash. He’s so exceptional–isn’t it normal for me to love him?”
She had once loved him so deeply. But why now did her eyes no longer shine for him, replaced
instead with utter disgust?
What had happened? Why had everything suddenly changed?
A sharp pain shot through his heart. Ash clutched his chest, and for once, the normally invincible nan seemed like a lost child, too panicked to know what to do.
‘You don’t love me anymore?” Ash stared intensely into Rianne’s eyes and said, word by word: “I
don’t believe you.”
She had loved him for so long–how could she stop loving him just like that?
Love couldn’t be that fragile!
Rianne gave a cold laugh: “Believe what you want.”
With that, she turned toward Sophia. Now that she knew Sophia was behind everything, Rianne

wouldn’t let her off easily.
“Sophia, you bitch!”
Rianne strode forward, stood before Sophia, and slapped her hard across the face!
“I begged my father to take you from the orphanage, to feed and clothe you, and this is how you repay me–by stabbing me in the back!”
“You eat our food, use our things, enjoy a princess’s life courtesy of the Lockhart family, and behind our backs, you do something this vile!”
As she spoke, Rianne kept slapping Sophia from left to right.
Soon, Sophia’s face was swollen, and blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.
“Sister, please stop! I beg you, stop…” Sophia cried. “You’re wronging me! I’m innocent! I didn’t do
anything!”
But how could Rianne possibly believe her?
Seeing Sophia deny it, Rianne kicked her hard in the knee. The kick was so forceful that Sophia’s knee buckled, and she fell to the ground with a thud.
“Daddy, I really didn’t do anything,” Sophia pleaded with Mr. Lockhart when her pleas to Rianne failed. “I’m innocent, Daddy, you have to believe me!”
“I know nothing about computers or how to remotely control projectors.”
“Someone must be framing me. Daddy, my brother and I are both being framed!”
Seeing Sophia cry so heartbrokenly, Mr. Lockhart began to soften. Both Ash and Sophia had been raised by him, and he truly didn’t want to believe they were involved in this.
So he tentatively asked: “Rie, could there be a misunderstanding?”
“Sophia only excels in the arts–she genuinely doesn’t understand computers or hacking. How could
she be behind this?”
Rianne said nothing, only turning to look at Ash.
‘Will you reveal the truth, or should I?” she asked. “I have evidence proving Sophia did this.”

“But my evidence is extreme. Once I release it, Sophia is finished.”
“Ash, Sophia, I’m giving you one last chance. Confess, and I’ll let you die with some dignity!”
