30 Chapter 30

30 Chapter 30

Betrayed by Blood-

Cain stormed into his room, slamming the door harshly behind him. His chest heaved as he walked straight to the alcohol cabinet and grabbed a bottle of alcohol. He was losing his mind; her taste lingered on his lips and it made him mad

Why did he do that? Why was he so out of control that he did that

The image of her wide doe eyes filled his mind again as he downed the drink, the way her lips. Her soft, trembling lips had felt on his

Damn it

He tilted the bottle back, the alcohol burning its way down his throat. But it wasn’t enough. He slammed the bottle down on the table, the glass shattering from the force. Cain growled frustratedly, almost pulling at his hair

His fists clenched as he paced the room, his thoughts spiraling. This wasn’t him. He wasn’t weak. He wasn’t ruled by his emotionsor by anyone else

She’s nothing,Cain growled to himself. She’s nothing to me.He repeated

His wolf growled, restless and furious at his denial. You kissed her because to. Because she’s ours

you wanted

Cain stopped in his tracks, his fists tightening until his knuckles turned white. She’s

not ours!”

She’ll never be ours!. He growled angrily. He had made a promise to himself a long time ago. He would never accept a mate. He wouldn’t fall into the same trap that had destroyed his own mother. He wouldn’t let anyone have that power over him

His wolf didn’t argue again, its silence heavier than words, like a judgment he couldn’t escape. Cain pressed his hands to his head, his nails scraping his scalp as he struggled to block out the bond’s pull

This bond is a curse,he spat, his voice trembling with rage. His gaze snapped upward, his green eyes filled with hatred. Is this your idea of a joke, goddess?”

He laughed, the sound hollow and cold. You’ve made a mistake. I don’t need her.

don’t want her.”

The words tasted like ash, but he forced them out, as if saying them would make them true. But the bond didn’t loosen. It tightened, pulling on him like chains around his

neck

His wolf pushed harder, forcing him to feel her. Her warmth. Her scent. Her lips

The memory of Avery’s lips came again, and this time it wasn’t just her lips. It was the way she’d looked at him afterwardconfused, hopeful, and scared. It made his stomach twist, not with guilt, but with something darker

Cain groaned and ran his hands through his hair yet again before grabbing his phone

and called her

If the moon goddess was going to mess with him constantly, he would do the same

Minutes later, Kendra stepped into the room in black lingerie she’d managed to throw on quickly. Her lips curved into a smile as she stepped inside, but it faltered when she saw the state of the room. The broken glass littered the floor

Before she could speak, Cain crossed the distance between them in two strides. He grabbed her face roughly and crushed his lips against hers

It wasn’t tender. It wasn’t passionate. It was rough, desperate, and filled with boiling anger that threatened to spill over. Kendra gasped, her hands coming up to his chest in surprise, but she didn’t resist. She never did

Cain’s hands gripped her tightly, his fingers digging into her skin as if trying to drown it all out. He kissed her harder, trying to erase the memory of Avery’s lips, but it wasn’t enough. It was never enough

He doesn’t give Kendra time to regain her breath; he pushed her towards the table. She stumbled, catching herself on the edge of the table. He doesn’t give her time before his lips are back on hers again, his hands roaming her body, wanting and wanting and yet not relieved

His hands gripped her tightly, pulling her closer as he kissed her brutally, her lips burning but she didn’t resist. Kendra struggled to keep up, her eyes stung with tears at the roughness. It was almost like he was punishing her. Punishing her for something

she didn’t do

Her skin wasn’t right, her scent wasn’t right, but Cain didn’t care. His wolf was howling in his head, growling and snarling, but he didn’t care. Not this time

Kendra’s breath hitched as Cain ripped her lingerie apart without a single care in the world. She gasped in shock; she’d never seen him this way. It was like he was a totally different person

Alpha-she started, but her words were cut off as he turned her and pushed her down onto the table

His hand fisted in her hair, pulling her head back as he thrust into her with no warning Kendra whimpered, her body trembling beneath his, she cried out but he didn’t care, he didn’t slow. His wolf howled in his head, clawing at him, but he ignored it. Grunting hard as he quickened his pace

This was supposed to make it better. It was supposed to drown out the bond, the taste of Avery, the pull that refused to leave him

But it didn’t

Cain’s movement was brutal, rough, and fast. He gripped her hair hard as he thrusted unrelenting into her. He growled low in his throat, the sound was animalistic. He needed to feel, wanted to feel

And when he finally released, it felt hollow. Empty

Cain pulled back abruptly, his breath ragged as he ran his fingers through his hair. His jaw clenched hard, and he looked away, refusing to look at her

Get out,he growled

Kendra’s eyes widened, her legs trembling, she turned to look at him, her face filled with dried streaks of tears. What?” She croaked out

Out!He snapped

Kendra flinched and quickly gathered the rest of the clothes before rushing out of the room, her heart pounding hard in her chest

Cain stood there, feeling everything all at once. The bond was still there, and somehow it felt even tighter
