Chapter 22
Chapter 22
Camilla finally got over her fever after being treated with intravenous fluids. Henric wanted to make sure she didn’t get sick again, so he asked the doctor for some extra drugs for treating a fever.
They ran into Maria and Freddy on their way out of the hospital. Camilla couldn’t help but laugh at Maria’s hands, which looked like balloons. And Freddy’s face was a mess of rod welts, throbbing with pain and itching like crazy. His eyes were barely open, and his mask was about to rip apart.
Camilla’s laughter filled the hospital entrance, making people stare at them.
Henric clamped his hand over her mouth and whispered, “Let’s get in the car before you crack up,”
But she couldn’t stop laughing, and her shoulders shook with mirth.
Freddy glared at the back of Camilla with hatred.
By the time they got back to the village, it was 8 pm. Camilla took a shower and hit the sack early,
But just as she was drifting off, she heard sniffling next to her. She opened her eyes and saw Maria sitting on the bed, crying her eyes out.
“What’s up now?” Camilla asked irritably, Kate just tucked her in a few minutes ago, and now she was bowling again. Did she have a faucet in her eyes something?
Maria looked at Camilla with red eyes and said, “Both my hands are so itchy and puffy that I can’t scratch them. Will i have to chop them off?”
taria was such a dummy. Camilla rolled her eyes, got out of bed, and grabbed a plastic bag. Then she rushed to the fridge downstairs.
or
“Put some ice on them. I’ll help. Quit crying, you’re driving me nuts,” Camilla said as she dumped the plastic bag with some crushed ice onto Maria’s lap.
Maria felt the coldness of the ice and stopped crying. She whispered, “Thank you.”
Camilla gave her a quick look, then crawled back into bed and fell asleep again.
The next morning, she woke up with a frown.
Her slender fingers touched her throat, which was as dry as a bone. She checked her forehead and felt a slight fever.
After freshening up, she went downstairs to get some water.
Her stomach suddenly growled.
As she drank, she noticed a tall figure coming towards her.
Good morning, Henric,” she said to him and set down the glass
Henric walked up to her, his large hand touching her smooth forehead.
His furrowed brows showed that Camilla’s temperature was
was up again.
His brown eyes scanned the outside area, where Ned was sitting on a lounge chair on the porch, having breakfast.
With his long legs, Henric marched over to Ned, looming over him as he said coldly, “I want breakfast.”
Ned choked on his sandwich and asked Jack to bring one over. Even though it broke the program rules, he didn’t want to mess with Henric.
Henric handed the sandwich to Camilla and said, “Eat it all and take y
your medicine.”
Camilla blinked her sparkling eyes at him. How did he get his hands on this sandwich? She didn’t bother to ask and just grabbed it.

Thank you. This is my favente beef sandwich.
“You eat too.” Camilla tore the sandwich in half and wrapped each piece in a napkin. She handed one to Henric and smiled.
Henric scowled slightly. He didn’t like sandwiches, but he couldn’t say no to her bright eyes and ended up eating it.
Half an hour later, the five stream started.
As the viewers entered the chat room, they saw a girl sitting on the roof of the kitchen, clinging to the chimney, refusing to listen to the man below.” won’t take the medicine, even if it kills me. Unless you can make it as sweet as candy!”
The comments started pouring in.
[What a way to start the day!
[How did she even get up there? She must be a wild child.]
[ts she really making such a fuss about taking medicine? What a drama queen!]
If you don’t like it, then leave!]
It turned out that Camilla, who was fearless in everything else, was terrified of taking medicine. She couldn’t stand anything bitter and would gag at the slightest taste of it.
Henric rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on, “Camilla, please come down!”
She refused, “I won’t come down. You’re a horrible man, always tricking innocent girls ke me.”
Henric’s eyes flashed as he looked at Camilla’s stubbornness. He slowly said, “One pill for 20 dollars.”
Camilla’s eyes widened, and she immediately put on a greedy expression
She let go of the chimney and stood up with her hands on her waist, haggling with Henric. 40 dollars.”
Henric coldly said, “30 dollars.”
Camilla smiled wickedly and clapped her hands. “It’s a deal.”
She then jumped down from the 10–foot–high roof, making Ned’s heart skip a beat. After seeing her safely land, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Ever since that night when Henric saw Camilla showing off her talents, Henric’s emotions had stopped changing.
1,2,3… A total of nine pills, that’ll be 270 dollars.” Camilla found a piece of paper and a pen, writing something down.
After finishing, she pushed the paper to him. “Henric, please sign here. A verbal contract is no guarantee, a written statement is hereby given.”
Henric closed his eyes and let out a sigh, picking up the pen and writing his name. The handwriting was strong and bold, written in one stroke.
He said, “Okay, I’ve signed it, You’re going to take the medicine now, right?”
“Okay” Camilla folded the paper and put it in her pocket.
She fought back the urge to gag, downed the medicine, and chugged two glasses of water to wash away the bitter taste in her mouth.
She was still on the mend, so Henric gave tier some easy tasks to do.
Henric lugged a big bunch of water grass, while Camilla held a fishing rod. Their job was to feed the fish in Mr. Nelson’s pond, and as a bonus, they could

catch two fish for themselves.
But there was a hitch. They only had half an hour to catch some fish, or they’d lose their reward.
Fording the fish was a piece of cake. They just had to toss the water grass Into the pond and spread it around. Done and done.
Henric was fiddling with the fishing rod, and Camilla wanted to try her luck too. But then she saw the bait in the bucket and changed her mind.
The only thing they had to lure the fish with was worms, and Camilla hated those slimy little things.
Mr. Nelson’s pond was out in the boonies, and she hardly ever got a chance to chill out.
She looked at Henric’s handsome face and asked, “You think you can catch any fish in half an hour? The program team is really screwing with us. They make us feed the fish first, and then expect them to bite. These fish are probably stuffed now.”
Henric gave a light laugh and said, “There’s always some hungry fish that can’t get enough. Your fish soup isn’t going anywhere.”
Camilla spotted a patch of grass nearby and went over to grab some. She laid it down on the ground and made a spot for Henric too.
She sat on the grass and watched as Henric cast his line into the pond. She touched her cheek and couldn’t take her eyes off the bobber
10 minutes went by, and her excitement turned into boredom. She stared blankly at the water.
Henric kept his cool and glanced at her. He said slowly. “Fishing requires patience.”
“10 minutes and not even a nibble. Are these fish birds or something! They just peck at some grass and they’re full,” Camilla muttered. Just then, the bobber dipped, and she jumped up. She pointed at it and whispered, “it’s biting, it’s biting!”
The cameraman held his breath too, wondering if they would reel in a fish.
The
quiet scene was suddenly shattered by a shrill scream.
“Ah… Sharon Maddox, please, let me go!”
The fish under the water must have been scared by the noise, because the bobber stopped moving.
